Go to tera-online.com and educate yourselves. :)

I hope by "Westernization" they don't mean: "Dumbing it down and coddling players so they don't fall down and get a boo-boo.

Considering how "fragile" many Western MMO players are, they wouldn't tolerate anything much more "harsh" than that without going into a rage over how "unfair" the game is.

If that's the case, I hope there's either a way to play on the Eastern version of the game (where they're less insistant on being coddled), or there's a server with a setup closer to the Eastern version. 'cause that's where I'd be playing.

Crosshair targeting? I'm in. I really hate the sticky targetting system. You can easily see who has skill more than gear in zero sticky targetting games.

The character customization needs a little more work because I love designing my avatar's face. As a RP-PvPer and sometimes PvEr (yes RP! RP is slowly fading away in games nowadays so i do it on my own), the look of my avatar is always a priority. He's either too fat or too thin, too short or too tall. His face must bear resemblance to a smirking Lee Van Cleef. oh yea....

Cool being the mmo game collecting aholic that I am I'm sure this will end up on my computer at some point.  If it's good enough may just be there for some time to come.

The combat sounds fun and meaningful which is what I'm looking for but I'm not sure my wife will be able to handle it.  Though if I can get the Xbox controller (as mentioned above) mapped for it then that might work.

P2P?  *Sigh* That's fine but at this point in my daughter's life that probably means I won't more than Demo/Trial/Beta the game.  :

Well, your in luck, sir. If round is what you want then your in luck. Both the Popori and Baraka race are roundish. Popori's are more like fat little furries and Baraka are bigger stonish like people.

I have gotten both a 360 controller and a PS3 controller to work with the game.

Unfortunatly, P2P is how it's going to be. If you want something action based that is F2P look into Vindictus which should be release by the end of the year.

That's Perfect!  The little Pandas (Popori) for the "Cutsie" moments and the big old Baraka's for when I'm serious.  I like it.  :)

Vindictus looks interesting thanks for pointing it out.

When i saw this game first i thought "yet another Korean MMO grinder" but when i saw that En Masse was created (part of) by the ex #2 of Blizzard and that they had a unique partnership with blue hole to modify the game (including korean developments) to port it to the West i got interested.

They have good ideas, the combat systems is good, the graphics are gorgeous, now it's just a question of having enough PVE content for both hardcore and casual players, as well as a nice controled PVP setup on PVE servers and whatever zergfest possible on PVP servers.

The political and all aspects of the game seems more like a gadget to me just to have the label, but the core of the game seems interesting.

    You're a Hardcore Survivor!

You not only survived the zombie apocalypse, but did it with style! Your mastery of zombie knowledge, survival tactics, and weaponry is nearly unmatched. Congratulations, for you are hardcore!

Watch this game. TERA is going to be the big one. The game many have been waiting 5+ years to play.

    Here is why:

    - AAA pay to play game with sub

    - Sandbox game design with player driven political system

    - Next generation action based combat

    - Huge seamless world with minimal zoning

    - Open dungeon design and instanced dungeon bosses

    - Open world pvp servers + battlegrounds

I was interested in this game quite some time ago,but now information is finally coming through.

it is nice to hear the combat was really group oriented,at least the boss was,i hope for more of the same, other than just boss fights.

What i would like to know because "challenging" can have different meaning to some, was there any RISK from over using damage abilites/spells?In otherwords ,was there any risk that the Tank might lose hate to the other dps or maybe the healer was healing too much?

What this means is that the developer fine tuned the combat so that it is not just a tank holding hate with no risk at all to the others or healer. It takes a lot of fine tuning to get the combat to where it is truly a team effort and to also add challenge and risk.Did players have to control their damage to keep it in line with the tank's tools/abilities?

If the Tank's tools are too over powering ,then it is not truly a team effort as there would be zero risk involved and therefor not much of a challenge at all, this is something i really want to know about, especially if i am to further keep an eye out for this game.Personally i am a real stickler when comes to combat structure, since that is really the main reason we play these games.

The movement and ability structure sounds a bit weird having to use the left hand to not only move about ,but to also use your abilities?Right hand strictly to control camera,is again odd, since you could just have auto camera follow you from a behind view or other options for view as well.Without trying it,i have to rely on what others tell us,but it does sound like they created a cumbersome structure for no reason.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

From the level of interaction I see from the controls and the ability to play with a gamepad, I'm betting this game will be a lot more casual than some people are thinking. I mean just think about this.....why would you design a game that's more taxing on players banging away on keyboards, typing and/or voice chatting AND make it as tedious as traditional MMOs in regards to taking hours for things like raids, quest lines and hunting/gathering/crafting?

Don't set yourselves up for faIlure fellas. If this learning curve is anything like Chronicles then expect players to leave in droves after that first month is up. Either way I'll be there to give it a test run, but don't expect me to help carry the marketing burden by hyping this game up like the whole industry did behind Aion.........I didn't then and I'm not gonna start now.

Great another pay to play mmo dealing a genra that's basicly been run into the ground. Is their ever going tobe any deveploer that will do a mmo with a lot more action based in a modern time with swords and no fucking elves, no fucking orcs and no fucking humans. Thats to much of the same boring ass  standard.  This is my thought on TERA

Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...

This is the modern times. Cars Airplane. Engines. Thats what im talking about. I want new types of fantasy races to play as. The orc, elves and human war is getting tiresome. It's been done move on already. Im going to love Dark Mellinum. But im still going to hate orcs.

its the lack of RP that disappoints me..

I understand that some companies don't or can't cater to all people but atleast a mention of rp would be nice
