What say you, hmm?
My prediction is APB will go free as well (or go under) within 6 months. I love the game, but gamers are fickle, and they won't play for heavily instanced zoned content. At least APB already has an advertising system in place (audio ads), they could add billboards etc...

I dont see subscriptions going away. I see them dropping to 5.99 and doing away with RTW points and the 20 hour part. PAst that not free.
Have you even played the game to know how the population is?
i think it says nothing just that global is now f2p i enoyed my time in apb an did not enjoy global. i believe global should have just been f2p anyway i wouldnt spend money on the game to have it . its not a horrible game just not the greatest an to me really repeditive (apb has its moments but due to the players your against its never truely the exact same)
apb to me can be more in depth then global but it all depends on the masses take on it. also apb isnt out till this next week with the preorders able to start on sat with the extra 3 days b4 the game comes out global has already been out for some time now
Heres your teeth back!
yea they may go cheaper but it really doesn't cost much anyway

Me or the OP? i know its heavy in people. Global agenda failed to attract subs because it wasnt worth it. All u got was the ability to take part in the global agenda maps which are identical to the same things u do all day. whereas in APB it ahs a more open world emmersion feel. not 1 dome city that you could compare to the social district but they already said there will be tons to do in social soon. Also they said there will be more action districts including a FFA district called chaos. APB will do well in its model but may have o drop the sub price and the RTW points.
No it doesnt cost much at all. Its well worth it. See my prev post why... not to mention the fact that you can make anything u want all day lol.
I could go either way with my feeling about this. I played Global Agenda for about 2 months and to be honest the game was okay but not great. It didn't have the fun factor that APB has (for me personally) but I honestly hope the APB devs realize that the success or failure of their game is going to hinge on how quickly they can get some things added to the game. I think a lot of folks want a chaos district in asap which they have stated they are trying to get out. That will help, and I also think they need to add more purpose for guilds such as turf wars, larger group battles or something of that nature. We'll see though..because the setting of APB is similar to GTA it may have a more lasting appeal than did Global Agenda. It's all speculation I guess at this point. lol
Of course I have played it, but population in a free event is never going to be equal to the population on release.

Your absolutly right, its going to be higher.
The general gamer doesnt visit websites for limited one time free events and download 8gigs of data, they walk into shops and buy boxed games.
I dunno, I kinda disagree. The last time I bought a game without doing any research on it was D*Force for SNES when I was 8 years old. After that, I always had magazines to help me decide if a game would be worth playing. Then came the internet and all it's glory. Also, with magazine they started giving out demo discs so you could play before you buy. Today, you can download demos right on your console or from many websites for your PC.
My point is this, I consider myself to be a "general gamer" as you call it and I don't just walk into a store and buy a game because the cover art looks cool. As an MMO junkie, I take the time to play as many alpha tests, beta tests, demos, free trials, etc. as I can because if I don't enjoy the game, I'm not going to invest time and money into it.
As to APB...there shouldn't be a subscription to play that game. I had my key to the city and was underwhelmed to say the least. It was my own fault really, to actually believe they were going to make an MMORPG...not an MMO3PS...my bad.
They would be better off, in my opinion, dropping the fee and offering up additional content to be purchased instead. Expansion packs would be the best way to go...but I honestly don't see the game being very successful as it is now. Especially not when I can play GTA or RDR and get my 3PS fix...with no fee to pay...
Or Global Agenda, I suppose, but that has a little bit more RPG in it and having said that, it's not worth a subscriptio either for what it is...glad they went and did away with that...APB should follow suit...as should any game that is mostly instanced and limited when it comes to being able to play with Massive amount of players...like a guild for example...I know guilds with more than 100 members...how they all gonna play APB together?
um there is a big differance between free to play and payed expansions( see guild wars) they arenot going free to play. And f2p would not work considering apb is one of the most expensive mmos of all times they have alot of money to make up they need the subs

But Raj83, you and almost everyone else on this forum are the minority that does careful research. Most other people are sucked in by ads. I've been in 10? MMO betas, most were free and every single one had an extremely higher population after release.
