MO FabernRUN Event by IMAGE Last Night

I hadn't even heard of this until after it was over, but the guild IMAGE sponsored an event last night, the first FabernRUN, in which quite a few participated (including a few PKs).

Sounds like it was a lot of fun.  Sure, there's plenty of PvP going on in the game, but it's definitely not a gankfest, and I really like the community that is developing in the game.

The first IMAGE FaburnRUN was a mild success - A total of 24 runners (Only 7 of them IMAGE members) left Vadda 30 mins late - but they all took off at the same time.



Early reports of large groups of PK's waiting on Wisent hill came out to be true and hilarious. Just before the race we told the contestants to run in a large west arch, and hug the mountain, if they went towards Maduli before heading to Fabernum it would likely be the best bet to avoid the PK's- The winners of our contest heeded this advice, I'm fairly sure the ones who went Towards the Colored forest were slaughtered, their names will be... Wait, who were they?



Many of the runners had no protection and ran in Rags - however there were a few brave souls who went in armor.



Now for the moment you have all been waiting for!

Nika 1st Place - 14mins 37 Seconds - Winner Paid: 6gold



Hellonies - 2nd Place - 14mins 39 Seconds - Winner Paid: 4 Gold



Jonkir - 3rd Place - 14mins 44 Seconds. - Winner Paid 2: Gold.

(Each also got a full set of Steel Drac Plate! Made by IMG crafters )



IMAGE members... What the hell happened?!!!!? We didn't win our own race? Hang your heads in shame.

This will be the First of a Series of Manhunts run every Saturday.



Your local gambling guild IMAGE will be running another player event on Saturday at 6 eastern or 3 pacific PM. You should show up for the event 1/2 hour ahead.



The event will go as such,

The event will start in Vadda. The Entrance fee will be 5 gold. There must be a minimum of 10 players.



Once you have paid your entrance fee you will be given access to a private Ventrilo server will you will be feed instructions on the whereabouts of the player in question.



The player in question will have 1 unique Item on him, a sword With a specific durability and make that I know, that must be returned to ME Lan in Vadda at the banker.



There are no rules. You can pk, use horses, bring your whole guild.



However your whole guild must enter if you join this. We will have spotters out tracking you as you hunt down our member. Anyone having guild assistance will be eliminated.



Guilds must register with me before hand and be in the same channel in vent.



I will globally announce all messages to all channels at the same time so no guild will have an advantage.



The house will take a small 20% of the fees entered to run the event.

If there are ten people entered yes Anton, so 80 gold.



If 20 people enter- or WINNER takes 150 gold



If 30 people enter- WINNER takes 200 gold

Yep, they seem to be running some very cool events.  There are a couple other guilds out there that are planning some events as well.

The only other event that's certain is one being run next Saturday by the guild, Thirteen.

The few others have not made definite announcements as far as I know.  I'll post info about anything I find out, though.

DAY CHANGED TO JULY 3rd!!! im going to be hosting a PvP tournament, first of many to come!! Coming up prolly until thursday, I will allow the discussion and signing up of the tourny.



Also id like to find a good time for all our time zones. Im EST personally and would like to get some intel on what time EST is good for other time zones including our friends across the pond. That being said I figured like 8 or 9pm would be good time to start. Incidentally each individual round could be cordinated to allow the rounds to happen throughout the day, maybe even into the next day.



Planning on a new way to run a tourny, since alot of people would love to grief it. This would STOP all griefing and we would all get a good laugh at how mad it would make griefers to not be able to stop us from having fun. This would be to have each round, pre-selected, and many locations picked. A event ref will be there with the participants gear and to document the fight. The location will be given ONLY to the 2 participants and all participants will be told a general area to be at beforehand. A short time will be given to get to the spot, setup, and then fight. The ref will make any calls on unfair players, groups jumping in, ect. IF YOUR GUILD FOLLOWS TO WATCH OR SHOWS UP, YOURE DISQUALIFIED AND FORFEIT YOUR ENTRY FEE. Sorry but for the first few it has to be done this way.



So here is what im thinking.. Bring in a guild like Freemasons to do the gear for the tourny. Players would come naked to their fight and the refs will hand them the pre-determined fair sets. Players can obviously pick their weapon type, but the armor I think should be 100% the same.



No potions. Melee fighters only. 2 seperate events.

Entry fee:

5g (more?)- Main event. Best of the best square off for the champ title. (STILL GOING!)



1g (less?)- Secondary Event. Those who dont really want the intensity of the guarenteed trash talking involved in the main event. Not sure if or how we could restrict this. Open to ideas. (CURRENTLY CANCLED DUE TO LOW SUPPORT)



Also you will not be able to pay 'at the door'. The fees would be collected beforehand and its up to the participants to make the effort to hand in their entry fee.
