Bill Murphy spent some time with GamersFirst, prolific publishers of free-to-play MMOs. GamersFirst had the chance to show off a trio of new games: Sword 2, Victory-Age of Racing and the space-themed Taikodom. Check it out!
Gamersfirst is a growing publisher of F2P games in the west, and they were on-hand with a large presence at this year’s E3. I visited their booth during the show and was given a brief overview of some of their upcoming MMOs. Not content with just offering up clones of this game or that, the main thing I took away from Gamersfirst’s showing was that the publisher is keen on offering different experiences in the F2P market. I was demoed three games at the show: an online F1-Racing RPG, a PvP-centric space flight RPG, and the sequel to an action MMORPG which is now adding RTS mechanics to the mix. It was an interesting offering to be certain.

The first 'sword' always had graphics I found strangely appealing, so I'm curious about this sequel.
The other 2 games, well meh. Racing and space flight stuff isn't my cup of tea.
Really don't care to play an mmo, where the most life like things I do is change my oil, leak antifreeze, and blow my after thrusters to impress other vehicle avatars.
Honestly vehicles should be added into an all ready immersive world, not be the focus of it. Of course unless you are a fan of muscular degeneration as your avatar never has stepped out of the whole vehicle even to piss as you have played for 32 hours on a weekend.
Anyways... some like to be elves, others hobbits or any number of furry creatures, I might as well accept transformers now as they flash around on my screen polishing their nuts all day.
Taikodom sounds interesting, and it's F2P so I might actually get to give it a shot. Though I don't you can call something as "taking a page from the EVE Playbook" and then turn around and say it is not focused on the economy. When the Economy of EVE allows and drives most everything else.
Still, space games are few and far between which means I'll be looking out for it.
Current Game: Asssasins Creed 2(PS3, Gamer Tag: Happy_Hubby)
Current MMO: World of Warcraft and World of Tanks
Former Subscribed MMO: Star Trek Online, Aion, WoW, Guild Wars, Eve Online, DAoC, City of Heroes, Shattered Galaxy, 10six.
Tried: Too many to list
Taikodom actually sounds interesting to me, sorta like EVE on roids with a lot of RPG element to it. That one i'll defintely give a look at, and i'm not really into F2P model games either...
but its a sci-fi so it'll get a look...

Sword 2 actually is no sequel at all.
They just applied a major patch to Sword of the New World and dubbed it Sword 2 to make it look fresh. Classic marketing move (similar to Neocron 2).
Gamersfirst is hiding old database from 9dragons vet players in order to hook them up with new chars. People that spent 3-4 years in that game spending money and mostly their time, lost everything.
Now they feeding them with lies that they dont know where the database is.
Im sure that after 3-4 months suddenly they will "find" the old database....
