The guy we were referring to bought a Lifetime sub to a game.  WHY do you think he forked over alot of money in a single payment for this game?

Lastly, WHY do you think the guy we're referring to is now quite dissatisfied with it?

I loved LOTRO.  It was, of all the MMOs that I have played, only the 2nd one that I put more than a year's worth of time and money into.  I had a Lifetime sub.  But the direction the game is going was quite not to my liking.  To the point where I had Turbine delete my Credit Card info, which was tied to my account and they told me it would delete it also.  I told them to go all the way and get rid of EVERYTHING, and told them to pack sand.  They got their f**king money anyways because I was a Lifetime subber, and I got nothing because I see this game going to s**t.

Grimboj's views not only come across as a childish rant, they are fundamentally flawed in that they are based on points that are simply untrue. The fact that the only support they're getting is from those who substitute immature language for constructive argument isn't doing him any favours but isn't entirely surprising.

Turbine cannot please everyone. When you bought the Lifetime accounts, you take the risks that the game will develop in a way you won't like. I had bought a 12 month account in another game I hardly touch it anymore. That's life, I'm frustrated, but that's it. I will be more cautious in the future.

Why did you tell them that you would like you CC deleted baffles me. Then you probably overreacted.

I feel, and as me many subscribers, that Turbine, while making some mistakes in the past (you don't make any in your life? Good for ya) is taking a bold step towards uncharted grounds which, if implemented well could be productive.

You think they are making it to make money? Yes, but how's that a problem if the product is worthwhile. IMHO it is still a great game, and I think I'm not the only who think this, far from it.

PS: In light of your last answer, I can say the LOTRO community won't miss you. Have a good night

No, when Turbine is going to add or change anything in LotrO they HAVE TO ask each and every lifetime subscriber and if even ONE of them are not happy with the change/new content then they can not do it!

    If WoW = The Beatles
    and WAR = Led Zeppelin
    Then LotrO = Pink Floyd

Naw they just buy you off with Tokens that in reality are useless because nothing being sold in the Cash Shop is of any use. And for subscribers, just keep paying your sub and Turbine will take care of the rest.

WOW isnt great because it has 12 million players. WOW has 12 million players because its great.

I just add this your not the only lifetime member who belives this game has went to h*** in a handbasket.  I have seen many lifetime members over  the past year who have packed up and left the building, and or banned for going to war with a blue name in the forums.  It is sad to watch a game that had so much potential go from a niche game to wanting to be the big kid on the block. The game has taken a turn for the worse, and continues to go down that path.  Im sure there is gong to be a lot of folks playing in now that its cough ftp, However I bet you that they will still have retention problems..

However turbine never cared about player retention in the first place, otherwise they would have addressed a lot of the problems at the level cap instead of trying to suck more folks in at the low end of the spectrum.

Funny, I didnt see that at all. What I see is someone who played the game until realizing that Turbine had no interest in providing content for the sub payers who were at level cap for a long time. I also saw that instead of creating said content they were more intent on free weekends and making book quests solo in hopes of attracting more low level players to leave stranded at level cap along with developing a new F2P cash shop model for both of their games and using the funds payed by players to do so. But perhaps I see this because after nearly three years of playing I also didnt like the game.

And the new zone is targeted for lowbies?

To my knowledge, Enedwaith is accessible only via Eregion, which is a level 45+ zone. I suppose you could run a level 6 hobbit burglar through there and do the level 60+ content. Maybe.

I play nearly daily, and on my server, it has been months, if not a year or more since I've seen a spammer for gold.

Most of the regional chat are kin recruiting messages. Advice is usually filled with questions and answers. Maybe it is different on other servers, but on the one I'm on, I don't see any of what you are saying.

Many turbine f2p fanbois here. I don't see why it is so much better than other games.. Yeah sure you can just sub but if I remember right you will have to unlock some classes and tier 6 crafting?

In DDO they sell potions, hirelings, gear and 32point build in the cash shop and all of you still think it's better than other f2ps (Well, yeah. The game is but not the cash shop).

Haven't played lotro for a while but this won't make me try it again. If I play f2p I want to get all the content for free and I don't give a shit if someone is little better than me because of some potions he bought from cash shop. I just want to enjoy all the quests and zones for free..  It's pve game after all.

Well, at least I appreciate you are not using coarse language. I understand what you mean, nobody is denying that Turbine had made some mistake in the past. However, this long period without xpac was also due to plans to implement the F2P, which is a huge coding work.

If nothing else, DDO demonstrated that the transition worked. True, DDO and LOTRO are a different kind of game, but I'm willing to give Turbine the benefit of doubt, as at least they are making some efforts to improve the game.

In fact, many people (not saying you are) who criticize the game are people who played without pause for three years and were burned out. I think that happens in every MMOs, I have a few cases in my kin but I'm sure that they will eventually come back. Nothing wrong in taking a pause from time to time.

That is wrong, they have said you get the xpac content only.  The soa stuff is going to have to be unlocked if you decide to roll any alts. In fact that entire thing played out today in the forums and Victorie the blue name locked and move the thread and admonsihed all involved in it.  They will be posting a new faq about the soa content in the next day or so.

So if they fixed that, then great, but I wasn't just making up the problems they have at least had recently.

I've played off and on since beta, over several servers.

There was a point when gold sellers would spam your mailbox, but Turbine took quick steps (what they did I don't know), and the problem quickly dissapeared.

And mining macroers?  Really?  Never seen anyone I suspected of hacking or macroing.

If there were "packs" of mining macroers running about, wouldn't all of the resources mined have flooded the market and driven down the price of ore?  I don't recall ever seeing a mass influx of mined resources, and to this day, selling ore remains one of the best ways to make money in game, precisely because there is less supply than demand.

I get the feeling you may have had some interesting point to make, but you destroyed any hope of an illegent conversation when you started making things up.

Exactly. Why should greedy sub payers and lifers expect their money to be spent on more content? Dont they know that people are suffering? Some cannot afford a sub fee or are unable to spend as much time playing as others and they are entitled to play, be viable and be able to attain status no matter how much money or time they have. I for one am all for the redistribution of sub funds. This F2P models is change we can believe in.
