I asked this question on a different forum, but it was full of immature children so I thought I would have better luck here. Has anyone every tried binaural beats before? I have sleeping problems (not insomnia), and would like to try these, but I wanted to hear from some other people's experiences before I bite the bullet and buy a song. The site I was looking at is http://www.rhythmheal.com - so, any thoughts or experiences with these beats?

Could sound possibly help ease someone into and help maintain sleep? Sure. It can drown out background noise, it can be used as a focal point to calm the mind, and it can induce a meditative effect in a person.
Do I believe for a second that a specific song is worth money for that purpose? No way in hell. I feel that anyone who would swear by it would have nearly the exact same success with some light classical music (read: elevator music). Something like this, with no scientific evidence to back it up, can easily be attributed to the placebo effect.

I have been using beats from i-doser for a while now and can say that they do truly work for me.
There are different "doses" for just about everything and they do truly feel different from eachother.
But remember that some people are immune to binaural beats and they just simply wont work for them.
That's really interesting..yeah I was reading into how the different frequencies can make you reach different types of effects you want, like energy or sleep. I looked on youtube for some and listened to the energy one for around 5 minutes (with headphones) and my left eyelid could not stop twitching! It was rather odd, but I think I'll buy the sleep ones from that site and see how they are (since they are 320 bit rate) and post my experiences here.
It does work, but don't listen to the claims about healing, "energy" and other stuff.
I've used a program called Brainwave Generator (link) that does this, and it has helped me get to sleep. When I first watched the YouTube video that contained the audio from the program I could definitely feel my body relaxing and moving toward sleep. The audio generated by this program sounds very similar to white noise. The program has the option to flash the screen, which is certainly an interesting effect when combined with the audio...
By the by, the Brainwave Generator program crashed very easily on my Win 7 system.
Additionally I've also tried similar products that use a combination of binaural beats, music, whale songs, and other nature sounds. Those did nothing for me; in fact it kept me awake.
