maybe that someone should be ---->YOU???

Anyhow, I would rather play wow with jedi and sith, bounty hunters, and agents, lightsabers, than wow with elves, half man cows, goblins , trolls, midgets and chocobos.

some people like the wow system but don't like all that lame stuff.

DIdn't mean to quote that, but I prefer to play wow with lightsabers and jedi, bounty hunters, agents , and smugglers as oppose to wow with elves, half man cow, goblins , trolls , and midgets riding chocobos.

Tbh some people like the wow system but do not like all that stuff i just listed, hopefully we drag in a few of those star wars fans. This is a game for everyone that I think everyone will enjoy.

Also, if you want a new formula , how about you create a new formula? I mean plenty of devs that started out just playing MMOs and somehow worked their way up in the game industry.  You could be the next one.

Lets just say I was not blown away by it.

Informed on how the system works = yes

    Jaw dropping awsomeness = no

Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...

Tired of damn munchkins and dwarves. I cannot wait for this game as I've been infatuated by Star Wars since seeing the original in the theatres when I was 9!

Also, I agree to what somebody said earlier:  No need to fix something that isn't broken.  I like the tank, dps, healer model along with aggro and threat factors.

On top of that... I like that the Jedi had to take care of a certain add since he was the only one that could.  I like that, it adds more importance to characters doing their jobs properly, instead of just AoEing everything down cluttered around the tank.  Plus, albeit something small, it's refreshing that this tank was a ranged tank.   Also, I liked that the healer was actively doing some stuff, looked like a bit of CC etc.

If this was just a lower level encounter, I can imagine how crazy some of the higher level ones might get.  I'm very excited.

On a different note... I find it funny that all these people who completely despise the game come to these forums just to bash on it, and tell everyone else how much they hate it.  But, I really believe that probably 90% of these people who hate the game and constantly complain WILL at least try it.    So, if you know deep down you're going to try it, then why bash it?  Just let it come out, play it, and make your decision then.  If you like it, stick around, if you don't..... go back to whatever game you were playing before.  There's plenty of MMO's that I hate, but I would never go to one of those forums and try to push my hatred on everyone else.

And I just wanna throw this in there, since I hear it alot from haters.  "Bioware has never made an MMO before!!"   Well, neither has Blizzard before WoW.

Come up with a new formula? Like what....give some ideas on what it would take for you to love a new MMO or shut the hell up.

Face it, MMO's HAVE to have quests to kill x rats, gain exp to get levels (or use weapons x times to gain skill). Instances for groups, raids, open world raids etc.

Well until Sony gives up the rights to that time line or until Sony desides to make another MMO out of it, SW: Galaxies is the best your gonna get with those kinds of ships and such, MMO wise.

But the The Old Republic time line really is one of the best in the Star Wars saga. Go and read the Darth Bane novels, really great stuff.

Actually, MMO's don't "HAVE" to have quests, instances, raids, or open world raids AT ALL. Shadowbane had NONE of that stuff, did very well and was a tone of fun to play. You did still have to level up to advance your character and stuch, but that was it... And as far as having to "HAVE" anything in an MMO, a way to davance your character or characters, companions, would be it. But also, even that I'm not 100% on. But back to Shadowbane, Join a guild help build it up, your castle, town, the strength of your guild, and such. And then take on other guilds in massive seige wars. No scripted "Battle Grounds" or any of that crap. Or just be a mercenary.

Believe it or not, before WoW came along, there were MMO's made by developers that actually had the guts to do innovative massive online gaming.

I like it. Yes I was expecting more, less repetitive game play and more of an action game feel, that early on video of a Sith Warrior and Bounty Hunter teaming up together and kicking butt seemed much better when what I just saw here. For one, the Republic Trooper looked like he did nothing more then hold down the attack button and lob a few bombs now and then. But I think it still looks pretty cool, plus this is still really early on. I think the Sith Warrior and Bounty Hunter are MUCH further along in development then the Trooper and Jei Consular, which is why they seem "lacking" in this demo, but I could be wrong. And while yes, it did seem very WoW like to me, it still seems very fresh, fun, and most of all, Star Wars. Really, over all, though it's still too early, for me anyhow, to pass harsh judgement just yet.

Another formula by which all the other games that have garnered 200-300,000 consistent subscriber-base over the last 5-years; theme-park, heavily instanced, single-player lobby-style game, class-based, no player diversification, mundane non-combat role, fragmented community through non-massively multiplayer game-play.  yay - /yawn.

     Why did Shadowbane shut down?

As for those who have to keep complaining about why devs aren't bringing us totally innovatitve games I ask you this, where were you when Chronicles of Spellborn came out? or Ryzom? thats 2 games that have tried to innovate the MMO genre and they are floundering due to lack of subscribers.

If players wanted truly innovative games the ones out now that broke the mould should be living proof of that, unfortunately they aren't because like it or not ppl enjoy playing something that is familar.

Give this man a gold star. I couldnt have said that better myself. Its amazing how ppl complain about a game not doing something new and ground breaking. When games do come out that break the mold these same complaining morons dont support them. I say stop all of the bitching because in trueth the players dont know what they want, if they did i think they would be in the developer chair and not bitching on some forum

You can add in that those complaining about the new and ground breaking games compare the games to WoW every time. WoW was better at launch, WoW has better end game, WoW does this WoW does that. Then they get the usual response of "go back to WoW" that we see everywhere. I agree that players don't know what they want. Especially the jaded players that hate everything out right now.

“How many people long for that "past, simpler, and better world," I wonder, without ever recognizing the truth that perhaps it was they who were simpler and better, and not the world about them?”

Why come up with something new when old works, to many whiners on these forums its on every game thread and its not even trolling just people mad at something they have no control over.

Why do people act like MMOs devs owe them something (and wow has damaged the way they live there lives), i laugh every time i see it

    HAHAHAHAHA

We can see by your post how MMOs have damaged "there" lives, though there are indeed "to" many whiners. "i" laugh, too.  People like you are learning grammar and spelling from the internet. Here's a clue: Leave the MMOs alone and pick up a book or twelve.
