3-D secure card needed?

I tried to reactivate my old FF11 account months ago and could not play because of the new card policy.  Will FF14 have the same issues?   I saw different work arounds but seemed silly  I would have to do that so  I didnt.  I really want to give FF14  a shot when it is released but not worth having to change banks.  Out of the 20-30 online games I have tried this is the only time I ran into a issue with not having a special debt / credit card.
