in Final Fantasy XIV

As this game is clearly developed with a gamepad controller in mind, so when i play it with keyboard/gamepad combo instead of keyboard mouse i should have the better experience.

 

I only played FF XI for a month or so, cause then i got invoted intoo WoW beta, and never tried it with a gamepad... So i have no  experience at that.

 

What are your opinions?

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

    I liked using the gamepad in FFXI.  Using a PS3 gamepad at the moment in Win 7 64 involves a pretty convoluted process though.  It will be worth it once the driver situation is less sloppy (right now the only driver that I am aware of for a ps3 controller on Win 7 is an unofficial one from motioninjoy.com.  Until then, a regular gamepad will probably be alright.

    Just buy a Xbox 360 gamepad and plug it into your PC.

    That's how I played XI most of the time. I don't really know why, I had no problems with mouse and keyboard. There was just something nice about leaning back in my chair with a game pad while playing it. /shrug
