Question for CoH players about this game

I'm thinking about getting this game, but I'm not sure because people say its too easy and whatever. The only MMO I have played is CIty of Heroes. Can anyone who plays/has played CoH tell me kind of how they compare (ie- its as easy as CoH, but more choices like being able to...) the games. I know they are very different...heroes and dwarfs aren't exactly the same i know.  Everyone's talking about EQ2 and WoW and how ones better than the other...but I dont know anything about them.

So...could any City of Heroes people help me?

As I played both EQ2 and WoW for the same amount of time, I'll try to give you a fair comparison between them. For the record I have not played CoH tho. This is, however, based on my experience of the games, and I'm slightly biased towards WoW

    Character Creation.

WoW In wow you have a number of options to choose from regarding Skincolour, heads and haircolour. Then there are some options that are race/gender specific. Avatars appear somewhat cartoony, but still more "life-like" than in EQ2. Nameoptions are a bit bleak IMHO.

EQ2 In EQ" you can personalize most features, tho I thought the only thing that really was visible in-game was hair-/skincolour and size. I ran into alot more people identical to my Avatars than in WoW. Naming was just as poor as in WoW IIRC (eg. no option for lastname or Nickname during creation)

    Quests and experiance

In general quests in WoW are easier. You can complete most quests without a group if you want to, and you level pretty fast.

In EQ2 there are alot of quests that require a group to complete, as most enemys are in groups. By the time your high enough level to handle them singelhandely you get little or no XP for it. I felt that gaining levels was a boring grind.

    Exploring

In WoW you need to get to a certain point for that part of the map to reveal, and often it's near impossible without being detected by several enemies. I ran through several areas with out getting any parts of the map revealed since the enemies were way to tough for me to engage.

In EQ2 the map reveals in a radius around the Avatar, and you can easily avoid most enemy encounters if you wish to. In this aspect EQ2 has a defenite edge on WoW.

The thing that is not as good as WoW in this part is that WoW has seamless servers except for the Intance Dungeons, EQ2 you get paused everytime you venture between maps as the client loads the new area. Both worlds are huge, and I only saw very little of both so far (I honestly don't know wich is the bigger of them, but I suspect it's WoW as you've got to continents to explore there)

    Graphics and sound

WoW is simply stunning. Amazing detail, and yet not very hard on the PC. As with Avatars the feel is somewhat cartoony, but stunningly detailed. The very first time I came to Ironforge Gates I was struck with awe.

EQ2 has decent graphics, not as highly detailed as WoW, but still pretty good. Neither game lagged for me, except the serverside lag that appeared in the beginning of WoW OB when the servers were a bit crowded.

All in all I can say that if you ghave a group of friends or a Guilde in EQ2 it can be a good game. WoW works wether you're have any friends there or not. I suspect that since it takes longer time to level in EQ2, that game will probably last you longer. If you want a fairly easy Game I recomend WoW, if you want a little tougher more difficult game go for EQ2. It's all what you prefer.
