Generally people that post emotionally on forums are lacking something outside of the internet.  Maybe love or cuddling.  Maybe they think they deserve more credit than they get for the nothing they have contributed to the world.  Either way on forums 99% of people are the same and they only want to talk, and never want to listen.  This equates to a bunch of weird opinionated people all talking at the same time and all being ignored at the same time.  Imagine a room where everyone is shouting and no one is listening.  Now imagine a room of Star Wars fans and a guy with nipple rings and pointy ears screaming about how much George Lucas sucks while banging his head and crapping on the floor.  This guy gets attention thus feeding his urge to fill whatever he lacks outside of the internet while not having to physically be there or feel the shame that this would cause in person.

This is generally your answer.  There are a few people that can be counted on your left hand who actually use forums to exchange information without getting all emotional, but they are the type that would just leave the room mentioned above.

I would say 100% as you post the same ways as so called 99% :-)

    +1

Every poster who supports this concept should be signing their posts with their real names, or otherwise, they're being hypocritical in their support.

Why?  According to your logic everyone that supports anything should start doing it before it is the accepted practice.  Hypocritical would be them leaving the forum board if Realid is started because they do not like it after advocating it.

I have been part of the 99% since 2003.  I never come to forums to listen unless it's a sticky, news, or dev and then I don't reply.  I come here for emotional fun and to try to win arguments since I can't do that with my wife.  This is what I am lacking outside the internet.

Love-hate relationships are hardly a problem unique to the games people play.  Sometimes it's hard to let go of anything - jobs, homes, friendships, to make the clean break and move on.  It's irrational, it's self-destructive, but it's human nature.  MMOs are very good at forging a sense of community, ownership and habit ... the very combination of things most likely to lead to a difficult seperation.

Some people just love to complain.
