I haven't seen such a hard-headed, incompetant developer ever in playing MMO's since 1999 and I'm not even exagerrating.

1- They just made buying stuff off the item shop not an option. If you want to be running around doing 200% less damage and having your items randomly inverted when you die(stats reversed--- +50 strength becomes -50 strength) you can still get by without buying gPot. I shouldn't have to tell you that would be a very bad idea.

2- Increase XP needed to level from 20-40 tremondously. Not only that not give enough real quests to fill in the gap. A game that was quest driven with minimal grinding just flipped over. It's now heavy grinding. Don't forget to buy your incense so you can kill something!.

3- Class nerfs. Somehow, someway they actually nerf classes that have the hardest time killing people/mobs and buff the OP flavor-of-the-month classes even more. Yes, somewhere there are devs with their heads shoved that far up their arse.

That's just my top 3. Looking at what they are giving the Russians with patches they're not done fuking this game up. It could have been a decent f2p game but it's turning into nothing more than a cash grab while the ship sinks so avoid it.

I enjoyed the game, while CS items was not a mandatory item to play the game comfortably .

Even if they fix it and make the game closer to a F2P game, and lax up some on needing CS items to play comfortably, it would still be 3-6 months before US version see’s it.

First we have to watch/read about it for 3 months of it being played in the RU version then, we might get to see it.

After Gipat, I saw nothing in the RU version to solve or adjust, so I saw no reason to continue trying to play Allods Online for Free. I was either going to need to spend real $, or just find another game.

I’m still hoping they do the right thing. In the state the game is now (IMO) is to let it die in Peace.

So the Developers need to fix it, or forget it .

The developer of Allods are after $$. Nothing more..

Not in providing a game that they themselves would love to play. From the very first moments of Allods hype, veteran gamers saw threw the BS and realized they are chasing subs, not nmaking a game beloved by the MMORPG community.

It's time the WoW refugee's stop buying these piss-poor games and let them die.. all they are doing is having 200,000 un-happy WoW players jump from one game to the next...  giving these business men your money.

    200,000 x $14 = $2.8 million a month...

Don't get suckered into these WoW clones, because they offer you flying, or some other great element. Just go play the classics and give them your money..  DAOC, EQ, etc..

Ok, WTF are you talking about?

    1)  Allods, at its core, is a better game than WoW.  It's a clone of WoW just like WoW is a clone of Everquest.  In reality, the class design is different and has some great concepts, so is the character custimization, skill system and class mechanics.  Oh and Allods PvP, even in its limited form is still better than what WoW offers.

    2)  Allods is a F2P game with cash shop, not a sub-based game.  So your equation makes no sense.  It was mostly F2p players that flocked to it.

    3)  Allods would be a success if only it was not structured to be cash shop.  That is its downfall.

I played from Closed Beta and this game got killed by its greedy & idiotic developers.  It's actually a very well designed game with tons of potential but as I predicted then, the cash shop killed it.  No sense in playing it anymore.

Playing: EvE, Warhammer free unlimited trial, Allods Online
Played: Anarchy Online, WoW, Warhammer, AoC, Ryzom. Aion
Strongly Recommend: Ryzom, EvE, Allods Online

Wow, congratulations! Well, maybe not. Maybe you've been getting your Gpots by doing surveys. So not spending a cent is probably to be taken with a grain of salt. Just having the computer run costs somebody money. If you're not picking up the bill, rest assured that someone else is. But if you're enjoying the game, enjoy while you can. Soon heroics, astral, gipat, have fun!

Waiting for Guild Wars 2, and maybe SWTOR until that time...

well let me start by telling everyone a little about myself.

before Gipat patch I was level 40 with a combined 300 players connected to 3 guilds involved directly with mine.  Since Allods Guild system only allowed 150 members we had a Main guild Camelot a secondary guild Camelotians and a Allied guild SeventhCircle.  Totally well over 300 players.  give or take approximately 150-200 of those players were semi active playing anywhere from 5-10 hours a week every week.  there was a little handful of approximately 50 very active members whom played anywhere from 10-15 hours PER DAY!   We had Astral and Heroic raids going 7 days a week.

Along with the Publisher of Allods at Gpotato / Gala-net our guilds hosted events, raids againts other faction, helped GM's hand out event items etc etc etc..

This should give a clear picture that I had a very good understanding of the game and I very much so supported the game and its publishing company.... That is until the Gipat patch.

First lets explain what happened when they first ever opened the Cash shop in Allods online.  The prices were extremely and considerably over priced compared to ANY game Free to Play or Pay to play sub games, including their own game library.  There is an audio interview on the web somewhere and they at that time admitted to the need of Cash shop items at end game and at this point even verbally stating that to keep with their "Completely Free to play" moto there would be these end game items in game via difficult quests...

Now Gipat patch:  They quoted many things to try and blow smoke as to what was really going to take place after patch.  They said there would be a Damage increase, mobs would become easier so on so forth.  when in fact more bugs and glitches were introduced to the game causing random deaths, these random deaths turned out to require items only originating from the cash shop.

instead of a damage increase they debuffed all players dramatically and increased mobs damage and hitpoints making it impossible to kill any mob your same level or even 1 level lower then you UNLESS you used a cash shop item to bring your attack power back up to normality and even then it was a little weaker then before the patch.

They added content which most of directed forced use of items only originating from the cash shop and now instead of their original slogon of completely free to play they started deleting posts on their forums of anyone quoting things the GM's stated concerning this.  Not only did they delete these posts certain individuals including myself recieved warnings for "Making these things up" essentially calling me and many others liars!  Great PR and customer service when one of these quotes is aired on the interview of the publisher of Allods via Gala-net... Now they make statements like "its not only in the cash shop, you can purchase these items in the auction house too"  we aren't idiots someone has to purchase them from the cash shop to place them in the AH..  so instead of saying forced cash shop use, I specify, forced cash shop ITEM use to play normally at end game not even to compete just to play normally.

Then Two GM's had an internet Interview where many customers were asked to come and ask the GM's questions...

excluding the jokes and silliness the GM's out right lied about every serious question posed to them.

End game in Allods has become not F2P at all but Forced to Pay if you are wanting to play without using their surveys...

just do a BBB Rating search for Gala-net or Gpotato and see for yourself what type of business is hosting this game.

its a beautifull game and 1 of 2 things went bad.

1: Gpotato got greedy when they realized how big this game actually could be and how many are addicted to it.

2: the Dev's are money hungry and are forcing the Hand of the publisher to try and Milk every player.

if either one of these are true then the game isn't worth playing because if it is 2 then Gpotato had the obligation to stand up for what is right not only for the sake of their companys name but for their customers.  If it is option 1 then I don't blame them for trying to earn a buck, buuuut you are dealing with the north american market and we wont tolerate such activity from any company what so ever.

There are a small hand ful of people still playing Allods and the sad fact of the matter is because there is nothing else better in the F2P market until the 10th of September when LOTRO goes fully Free to play OOOOH ya!!

come join us Firefoot server!!  Long Live Camelot!

LOL nice. I should have not said I've not spent a cent. Rather I've not gained any gpoints at all. From be it cash or other methods. I can buy what I need from the auction house just fine. I heard they might have changed that a few patches back, I should go check. Though I got enough crap off the auction house to last me a long time with just in game gold.
