If yes, which game?
I like many others have taken a break from MMO's until something actually worthy of free time and money comes around.
Other than 3 days of Mortal Online, I haven't played an MMO in 19 months, yet I lurk these boards daily. Please stop playing/paying for shitty games so something good can come out. Thanks!

I'm about to take an extended break from EVE online.
Nothing gives that 'mmo feeling' any more, and i think it's our fault as much as the games.
My wife and i recently started Vanguard and it is decent but maybe I am getting burned out nothing seems to have that it factor anymore.
I voted yes.
I am playing Darkfall. It is funny how the game that I totally hated at first turned out to be my all-time favorite.
It is my GFs favorite too. Actually I cannot even get her to play anything else with me atm so I wish she would get bored with it sometimes like I do. I definitely need my Darkfall fix though since it is the only one of its kind besides Mortal Online (wow I even hated this one more than Darkfall . .. lots lots more).

Just wait a while and you can play FFXIV. Or if you are into F2P at the moment, sign up for Vindictus' closed beta test.
Have played: Old School Runescape, Flyff, Maplestory, 2Moons, World of Warcraft, Aion, Aika Online, Battle of the Immortals, Allods, Global Agenda, Heroes of Three Kingdoms, SWTOR, TERA, FFXIV, Vindictus, RIFT, Planetside 2, Elder Scrolls Online, WoW Classic, Guild Wars 2, Destiny 2
Waiting for Outriders and Wow Classic TBC
There is only a few decent game worth playing here's MY list>
Vanguard:Sage of Heroes
Lord of the Rings Online
EVE:Online
Age of Conan (Good for a few months anyways)
that's about it I have played almost every decent MMO over the course on last 10 yrs or so and there have been others worth playing but have turned to crap nowdays
WoW
EQ2
SWG
FFXI
Yeah I'm hoping FFIV or TERA will fill the void. Nothing out right now interests me at all. I haven't liked even 1 F2P game yet but I may check out Heroes of Three Kingdoms, as I am a big fan of KOEI games. It will most likely suck though.
H3k is a perfect world game; expect the closed beta to be good. After the cash shop opens however, it will go downhill from there.

I am one of the minority that is happy with what games he is playing.
All I am playing atm is Dungeon Fighter, and it does me well enough until a AAA game comes out soon. I'm mostly looking forward to FFXIV.

The following statement is false
The previous statement is true
This
"I play Tera for the gameplay"
Here's what I'm playing right now:
Aion
DDO
LotRO
Wow
Out of those four, Aion is seeing the most playtime. DDO also sees quite a bit, and I'm barely touching LotRO and WoW atm. If I had to choose one to get rid of that 'burnout' feeling, I'd probably recommend DDO - it's very different from most MMOs, and the pick up and play factor it has is fantastic. If you're looking for something that's more classic MMO, I'd recommend Aion.
Try Darkfall, it now has 100% free trail, beat the crap out of MO and is about to get huge improvments this year in a Darkfall 2010 project, including Dx11 support.
I'm playing EQ2 until SC2 comes out. I've played before but decided to come back and play a Templar. Unfortunately they made the game extremely easy, easier than WoW. But I guess it's fun running dungeons and healing and working on AAs. When SC2 comes out I'm playing that until FFXIV.
I think the market has seen a lull for the past few years. Those games like AoC, WAR, Aion, and whatever else from the past three years didn't live up to the expectations the players had. MMOs were developed to imitate WoW and hopefully acquire some of it's success. But now I think the market is moving a different direction, entirely away from classical mmorpg mechanics. Before mmos were being dumbed down to the lowest common demoninator, but now it appears that developers are more concerned making an enjoyable game and doing away with the unneeded classical mechanics such as linear progression and clicky combat. Still, the games may be getting dumbed down to market towards the Xbox live player type demographic, but I do think these new games have more to offer for all types of players.
I don't know, maybe I'm wrong. Sometimes I think I shouldn't be playing this shit anymore. Not because I'm too old, but because it's a collossal waste of time. I've had more fun in Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect 1 & 2 then I've had in an MMO for years.
Although Darkfall Online is freaking great, but I don't have the time to sink into it. Plus if I let myself play it, I would make time by letting other things go in my life haha. Last summer I played DF on the new NA servers for 8+ hours a day. Haven't done that in a game since EQ1.
No .. Wait for guild wars 2, or SWTOR
If you enjoy PvP that matters inside a 100% open and persistant world, then Darkfall is the best MMO available. There IS a learning curve and the game is far from simple but once you realize "why" the game is the way that it is, you'll find one of the most rewarding game experiences on the market.
lol
Yeah it kind of reminds me of old EQ in the rewarding feel that you can get that other games just do not provide.
EVE is pretty cool but I would prefer a realistic fantasy game over a screen-saver looking game. DFO seems harder too, which I like.
Have to be careful of playing it too much or it can seem like a second job. When it first came out I led a clan who built a city and whoa did that game make me so paranoid ... would sometimes get a call from a clan-mate that our city is getting sieged or something while at work and so I would freak out if I was unable to come home and hold our city but so many things have changed since then that it is a lot more casual friendly. I have never been able to put 8 hours into the game at a time. I have pretty much have been playing it casually for 16 months (since it came out) and the amount of fun that I had almost doubled every month from a combination of character development and patches that fix huge issues that come out every few months. I hated the game at first.
DAOC is also a really fun game but I prefer Darkfall's combat feel, realism, and graphics. Also dying matter more which I favor because I prefer a challenge.
I should also mention that PVP or anything really isnt that common in Darkfall and it is not a game that I can log into to get a quick PVP fix if I have only like 30 minutes to play. I play Guildwars and Global Agenda atm on the side for when I have less than an hour to play. I have been looking into every game that I have not tried lately just incase it has something that the current games I play do not . .. but having a really hard time with most games atm.

Warhammer Online tier 1.
"Traditionally, massively multiplier online games have been about three basic gameplay pillars combat, exploration and character progression. In Alganon, in addition to these we've added the fourth pillar to the equation: Copy & Paste."
yes,
im currently playing Vanguard
worth to play? yes it is worth to play, especially after the server merge
now, dont get me wrong, im a new Vanguard player, play it because of the merge, so i gave it a try hoping for a improved population and although the world still feels a bit empty
but the game mechanics are rather fresh, it is a grindy game, but it just feels different from the WoW grinding
i know this game wont last you for long as GW2, SWTOR, Tera, FFXIV and all other upcoming MMO will surely make you quit VG when they are out, but for the mean time?
i'd say just give your 20buck for this game via Steam for 6 months, you'll enjoy it
So What Now?
Answered no; not necessarily losing faith, but I do have little hope that anything will ever grab me again like the games I've played in the past.
The last 'MMO' I played was Global Agenda, and Darkfall with months off prior to that. All in all, I'd say it's been nearly (if not longer than) 6 months since I've actively paid a subscription to an MMO. That said, I've managed to find loads of decent single-player goodness lately with Steam's 4th sale, and I still have a few multiplayer games that I can pop into when the mood hits. Personally only holding any real hope for FFXIV for the time being.

Currently subscribed to WOW and APB. Recently cancelled my WOW account and probably will not buy any time for APB.
WOW is kinda been there and done that. I think the dungeon group finder is cool because I can concentrate on the action and get the good loot. On the other hand, the world feels pretty low population when I'm running around. I can't help but feel the dungeon group finder isn't part of the problem. There's a whole world out there now that seems to be going to waste, but levelling is so much faster running dungeons.
APB is a hit and miss. Hit because it is something new and I love customization. Miss because there is not alot to do other than fight and drive, and the matchmaking system is broken. I am going up against guys 150+ levels above me in rating with 3 slot weapons and full upgrades. Meanwhile I have a one slot weapon. Even when I unlock the three slots the prices are so high for them + upgrades. But the graphics are sweet and I have a new rig, so it's nice giving it a bit of a work out.
I think the mmo genre sucks right now as a whole. Hopefully it improves but I don't see anything that gives me hope right now.
i could not wait for the summer... i have not had a PC since last december. decided to buy a PS3 and Flatscreen instead. since i work all day infront a computer, feel that i am enjoying gaming way more.
anyways.. working from home this summer so, i got a work station. and i remember i was really looking forward to playing MMO's in my spare time again. And was super stocked about going back to GW.
i lasted around 6 hours spread over 4 days.
Aoc. 2 hours. (and spent around 4 hours fiddling with graphics...) but still i tought it looked nice. and combat was okey after 2 1/2 bears
WAR:: logged my Shaman. did a scenario check'ed out the AWEsome T3 RVR euro servers. logged out uninstalled.... it took 7 hours for that crapp to patch and stuff... and i played probably and hour.
Allods. i tought it was kinda neet at first glance. played for like 4 hours with the warlock type class (cant remember what he was called) but yeah then i found out that i might aswell be playing wow. uninstalled the next day becouse my account got flagged inactive.
opend up the wow website... closed it again.
Vanguard. my first time to check it out. looked to be intresting... but casting animations simply killed it for me. still i powerd trough check out couple classes for 2 nights... so like 5-6 hours.. then i needed 7gigs free for more workspace. and Vanguard was the first thing to go.
tought about checking out my EVE dude for the 5 free days. but rememberd that i dont have the time for it.
i only did trials btw... But yeah. think the next mmo i will check out is FFXIV. sounds kinda intresting, but i think the next thing really worth giving a shot is GW2. right now the genre is dead boring.
*edit for horrible gramar... which probably still there
Sorry for typos... dyslexic and just too damn lazy to proof read every post for 30 min
(yes i am aware of spell check but it does not help that much
I guess it couldn't hurt to check out DDO, there is nothing worth paying for and I was a big D&D fan back in the day.
well a buddy of mine from swg sent me a friend invite for Age of Conan. I decided after viewing some pvp videos not to mess with it. I was playing AION at the time so i just stuck with it, played it for 4-5 months until I got banned , because NCsoft does not know how to handle hacked accounts. This happened 2 months ago.
So, I resubbed swg, was bored barely played it. Thought about resubbing wow, but then again I don't want to waste money on the wotlk xpac and than have to do it again for cata.
Played a few games I didn't like or could not get into.. Eve, and Fallen Earth, and global agenda. Couldn't get into them and damn sure was not gonna p2p them.
So now that brings me back to Age of Conan. I went and used the invitation my buddy sent me like 5-6 months ago , so I am doing my 7 day trial right now. I gotta say , the graphics look really nice. Gameplay seems to be kinda fun too, I was in some guild that kicked me out, but they said they had a guild city, that really caught my attention.
Seems like this game is pretty good, maybe the combat could be a lil better, but I think it is one of the 2 only games I would really be interested in spending money on .. AoC or AION. If you don't like grind but really nice graphics and fun, I would go with AOC. AION you have to bust your ballz grinding before you can get anywhere or start to really enjoy the game.
I quit playing AoC a long while ago, after I left Tortage the game was even more boring than ever. I have a 50 cleric in Aion but the endgame was way too pointless, many design decisions killed it for me. Being a big fan of Lineage 2, I had high hopes for Aion, too bad though.
Xsyon is now available to play if you preorder. I'm downloading it right now, in fact.
