I can't argue against that, but both prairie chickens and the benny hill theme are the shit in my book.
They would also both work well together in FE, because you'd have to be blind to not see the latent comedy in the game. All post-apoc has a funny side like that, ask Fallout.
Exactly. There's a comedic or dark humor description to almost every item in game. There's a line of weapons called 'Sports gear' or something. The slots and blackjack machines are always making humorous comments.
I thought the blight wolf mounts were ridiculous but I quickly got over it. You will, too.
There's humourous, then there's silly. Players riding comedy mounts is silly. And there's nothing 'latent' about it.
You make a good point. I can see how the contrasting humor (silly vs dark) can detract from the game for some.

Somebody got a link to these "news" about the chicken mount?
I checked the FE website and there was nothing about it in the news. It wasn't in the store either, and I didn't find anything in their announcement forums. When I google it this thread here is first, and in google images was nothing either. There is also nothing about it on YouTube, and no link to anything related in this thread.

I guess the OP made this up?
It's true Icarus haven't announced anything about it. A few players have seen it ingame and when they asked where they got it the players with the mount said it came with a copy they bought at Gamestop. Whether it's going to be made available to other players no one knows.
And no, there wasn't an announcement, but if you go to the gamestop site and look at the box cover (for Fallen Earth: Bloodsports) you can see "Exclusive Prairie Chicken Mount!" stuck in the corner.
"Finally, we have what many players will consider one of the most exciting additions to come with this patch: new mounts. Your first introduction to the wildlife in Fallen Earth probably involved being pecked to death by a Prairie Chicken, and now it's time to get a little of your own back by gaining a Prairie Chicken mount (feel free to ride the thing over various cliffs and into walls if you find the creatures especially irritating). If you worry about being laughed at while trotting through Embry on a giant mutant chicken, fear not. Spend some time in Deadfall helping out some new allies, and you can earn a Blight Wolf mount -- no worries about laughter while you're looking down at someone while holding the reins on one of those."

Good thing Icarus Studios has Mahlo to remind them the fundamental rule about post apocalyptic games: no humor, ever.
Clearly instead of a chicken mount they should have had a mount that gives you cancer and makes you die slowly. Oh and those other jokes have to go. And the casino, gambling makes people happy and we all know there is no happy allowed in post-apoc games.

Denial makes one look a lot dumber than he/she actually is.
I just started playing recently this game. So when I first saw the Paririe Chickens, my first tought was "These are rideable?" They are big enough to carry a person and at least one slot inventory. I don't understand why this is so much to deal with for you, OP. As i see, the Prairie Chicken Mount totally fit into the world of FE.
So the entire game is ruined because you don't like a feature you can opt out of using?
No, the entire atmosphere would be ruined by players running around on oversized chickens. It's idiotic. Not to mention the fact that it seems rather too close to mounts in fantasy MMOs FE was supposed to be different from. I can only think they're trrying to appeal to players of those games as their subs decrease further. Can't see any other reason they'd want to introduce such a ridiculous feature.
So where do they get those horses?
Seen alot of wild horses running around? Having trained horses steadily availble seems more imagined then a prairy chicken tbh.
So these days people complain about giant mutant chickens you can ride...seriously when did gamers become so up their own ass....I can only imagine if the old Fallout games came out today, People would complain about the humor in their post apocalyptic rpg.

Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 300 episodes)
Let's play Guild Wars 2 (blind, 45 episodes)

So yeah, it's real.

I'm so broke. I can't even pay attention.
"You have the right not to be killed"
Actually wouldn't it make sense that there are giant chickens in a post apocolyptic MMO where everything got mutated??

Makes sence to have the chickens mountable really. Think of them as some crazy buffed ostrich. Yeah you can eat them, but you can ride them too.
It would make since to have wild horse mobs running around to make it even though.
Hell, they can make a sand lizard mount for all I care.
What really needs to happen...Is a "spear" line for mounted melee chars. Not having this is what doesn't make sence and seems silly.

Shoot i love my chicken mount.. carries more items then my toon can lol
it jus has an annoying squeal i gotta listen to every 2 seconds >.>
