I have been playing Warhammer for a few months now, got a Witch Elf and Disciple of Kaine to 40+, but slowly beginning to grow tired of the game. I am in a decent closed beta so I play that game some also. At this point, I would rather be outside then play the games that are out there today =( I miss pre cu SWG still.
I have APB but Ive decided to wait for some patches before I use up my time. Im playing Allods and trying to play Lineage 2 but I hate it so tomorrow Im probobly going to resub for City of Heroes. Ill play CoH for a month and then will decide what to do since at Blizzcon I am expecting to hear the Cataclysm release date. If its very late in the year I might try Aion again after the 2.0 patch hits. Oh almost forgot but im playing lots of Global Agenda.
I am currently playing EQ2 as I have always enjoyed it and I was actually missing it so I re-subbed. I am also doing the 14 day trial for Vanguard and so far it is an awesome game if you can get past the older graphics, which I can
T1 Warhammer, open RvR was loadsa fun in Empire for PvP. I found a class that was very rewarding to use and required careful planning to pvp successfully with (ambush, lure and bamboozle), but only because that was free and the rest of the game was empty which meant even playing that had it's eventual limits.
Now getting by on Pocket Legends on the iPhone/Pad/Touch for a single mmo fix to go. It's cheap (free with in-app purchases) and keeps the mmo buzz until future mmo's eventually come out.
Have searched without any luck for a really solid, new sci-fi mmo that involves space-combat?
I've tried to get into this game a few times since it launched nine years ago ... but I couldn't. I think it had something to do with the ugly characters. But in the last couple years, after my jaunt with Vanguard then WAR and AoC, then a good seven months of Fallen Earth, some Eve ... which gave me a taste for good sandbox pvp.. That caused me to try Darkfall ... didn't like it. Tried Mortal Online .. uninstalled it pretty quickly. I don't know, something about those games just didn't catch my attention. Since then I've tried APB, Allods, Atlantica Online (which I enjoyed, but quit after realizing how much I was spending) ...
So I decided to go old school, gave DAoC a shot since I remembered those fond memories .. but it didn't feel like it used to. Same story with EQ2. Then I tried out Ryzom for a while.
I think after being in the Ryzom world for a bit, I got used to the weird alien graphics design and when I decided to give AO a shot, I was able to jump right in and actually see what the game was about. All I know is that I haven't had as much fun in an mmorpg for a while.
There are rumors that the graphics engine for AO is being optimized ... which might turn out well and attract a second look from more players or it might destroy the game with new bugs, but who knows. Right now, it is a very good game with lots of depth and options and it is completely free. Subbing will give you a look into the latest expansion Shadowlands but what it adds isn't all that much; compared to say any other FTP game that happily flaunt and harbor vast differences between those that pay an those that don't.
AO, what does it have with the totally free option? Off the top of my head:
- 12 very different classes, all awesome in their own right
- housing
- vehicles, ground and flying .. and water (but who needs a boat when you can fly)
- soft classes, with a skill points based system. You can make an Engineer that speciallizes in martial arts for example. A pure martial arts class character will be better ofcourse, but the engineer can build giant pet robots
and pretty much the rest of the run of the mill mmorpg stuff.: quests, PVP, Player owned Cities, rich crafting system .... yeah you get the whole game for free.
I----I
If you sub and get the expansions, one of them gives you Mechs that imho rival those of Perpetuum. With the Alien something expansion and shadowlands you get two new classes and more weapons, skills, spells, perks ...
All in all, I think I found something to stay me over till the next quality MMO hits and doesn't crash.
Darkfall Online - not only does it have the most potential of all MMOs right now, I enjoy the PVE and PVP more than any game that I have ever played with how it is now. DF2010 is surely going to be epic (probably Epic failure while the server crashes for a couple days though at first like every big patch/expansion lol).
I would like to see more ways of customizing my character and would like there to be a huge dungeon added (bigger than all of the others) along with RvR PVP quests (only available at a certain time once a week or maybe once a day so long as it does not take away from world PVP). If there was local banking with caravan trading routes than that would be really cool to play the role of a thief and rob the caravans as goods are being transported (kinda have something like that now so I think they may be headed in that direction). Underwater content would be tight too (underwater dungeon, etc.)!

I'm playing Heroes Of The Three Kingdoms (PWE).. Why? Because I enjoy Historical games based on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms Saga and even though there are other games that deal with this time period, this is the only one that I felt had some substance.. Some meat to the storyline and not just a bunch of uninspired kill quests and AFK grinding (cough, Kingdom Heroes, cough) ..
I am not usually a fan of Perfect World games as they are all usually the same type of deal. Ether Saga Online, PWI, Jade Dynasty all resemble each other, somewhat graphically and feature wise.. I will not even discuss the sad but popular Battle of Immortals which resembles Dragon Oath, for which I LOATHE the encumbered and sloppy interface. And I refuse to take any stance on Forsaken World since we still have no idea just HOW different its going to be from all the other PWE games, even if it supposedly IS using an uodated graphics engine..
There are only 2 games that I feel are worth my time (not really money because im trying to stay subscription free for a while, while I take care of other obligations) and thats HoTK and Zone 4: Fight District when it is released.. But thats just me.. Whats everyone else playing?
Lol i'm really lacking any sense of direction now, my previous post stated what I was playing at that time, but for the past week or so i've just been wondering around aimlessly retrying everything i've already played lol.
As a f2per there isn't much I havn't played, so i'm left with little other choice but to be a drifter.
Although, currently i'm back playing DDO after trying out LOTR with a soon to be expired beta key >.< but that's pretty much all the game did for me, just made me want to play the more indepth version of two very similar games. The only real difference I could see was their orientation or focus, kind of Social(LOTR) vs Gameplay(DDO).
So if anyone were considering playing either in the future, ask yourself what you'd rather, a social game with linear character developement (no stats, limited choices)? or a combat driven game with indepth character developement (stats and multiple class/skill choices)?
Obviously i'm more for custom stats and nearly unlimited class/skill choices, thus my only reason for playing DDO instead.
Currently playing WoW mostly...the only paid sub I have at the moment. Might switch back to Aion when 2.0 comes out but not sure. Played Allods until some recent changes rubbed me the wrong way. I'm going to give the new EQ2 Extended a try to see how that goes.
Currently on Aoc and itching to get back to aion, but everytime i remember the grind it puts me off...tried abp and it was fun but does not work for me as a Main mmo but rather "a fun mmo" that you can drop by every now and then

N.E.O Online by ogplanet. Great combat animations and fast paced gameplay. Gives you cash items at lvl 5,10 and at the beging. Great skills. No class, you can do anything like a mage with a sword. Fast lvling, great pvp system. High playerbase. Cool chaos system, more monsters you kill the chaos value increases, during chaos the places look like deserts but still have plants and grass, and monsters become bigger and stronger. A war sarts also. Not all mounts are cash items. Great comunity. Great character customazation. One of the best mmorpgs I ever played. I mostly quit mmorpgs but this one is great. It has many other features and is in beta test.
Not playing any MMORPG for about 2 months now. I was playing two of them. STO was cr*p, so after that, I fell back to my existing LOTRO account. I've played there since '07 when it first came out, but that game is going to take a turn for the worse, so I stopped that too.
For the first time in years, I think going back to '04, I have no MMORPG sub. Not even trying a F2P one.
So I'm doing other things and browsing up to be current on the news.
"I have only two out of my company and 20 out of some other company. We need support, but it is almost suicide to try to get it here as we are swept by machine gun fire and a constant barrage is on us. I have no one on my left and only a few on my right. I will hold." (First Lieutenant Clifton B. Cates, US Marine Corps, Soissons, 19 July 1918)
Currently not playing anything either. I can't find a game that compares to Knight Online and it's PvP aspects. So until a good skilled based PvP game comes out i'm just gonna sit on the sidelines. Good thing about Knight Online is that you can be Free 2 Play and never buy from the Power Up Store and still be as good or better than people who do spend money. It just takes a bit longer.
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...
The only thing I am playing right now is a version of EQ my friend is hosting on her own server. It's good for old memories and killing time until FFXIV. Not donating any cash to what is out right now, nothing comes close to interest.
Quite a few things I like about EVe. First, the company is very inclusive to the player community. There is a board composed of players that talk to the CCP once a year in Iceland. There are volunteer news reporters, chat moderators, and a dozen of other opportunities to help make the community better. I have even thought about doing a little fan fiction. Overall, the company is pretty awesome. Also, I enjoy Eve-Radio.
I also enjoy the "sandbox" environment. I can do whatever I want in Eve, but that also means that I can do missions when I wish to. But, I could also choose to not mission run. Presently, I am mission running, and doing a little exploration.
The game is thoughtful, and it isn't easy to master.
In addition, I also in enjoy that there is a system in place to purchase game cash. This helps eliminates gold spammers. In other games I was sorely tempted, and even once purchased gold from a site. ISK/Gold---just isn't a problem in the game, and opens up some many doors.
The game is skill based, and not leveling based. This is pretty huge actually. I always felt in other games that I had to grind grind grind for XP. Of course, in EVE you grind grind grind for Loyalty Points, but if you don't care about LP you don't have to care. Grinding for experience is a must in level based games. The skill based system in EVE can be frustrating, because I have to wait two weeks till I can fly my TECH II ANATHEMA because that is how long it will take for me to train till Frigate level V.
Overall, EVE is a great game and I expect to playing for quite a while.

1. I love Three Kingdoms lore. I've read the actual books. Getting to play in the universe is awesome and this game does it the best.
2. AFK leveling with an active community. Players can command soldiers and set them to fight. PvE Questing is still faster but for someone who can't devote a ton of time to grinding this is big. My concern is that we'd get a Granada Espado where nobody talked. The nation channel is always fairly well buzzing here.
3. To reiterate, players can command up to 6 soldiers! Not only does this add more choices in how to play but it makes battles that much more epic without a huge strain on the server.
4. Player leveling power is fairly linear. So a level 60 is not a god compared to a level 50. It's unlikely a 50 will beat a 60 in a 1v1 but it gives power to lower levels en masse.
5. Competitive events everyday.
6. Kingdom Wars twice a week that allow the 3 sides to freely conquer cities from one another. Wars can be quite epic!
7. Healing items have faster than a 2 second cooldown. It's usually 10 seconds which I'd like to see increased but at least it isn't as spam heavy as some other games.
So that's why I play Kingdom Heroes. It's not perfect and the item mall seems a bit OP but overall it's a win.
PS - Shameless plug. My website, http://www.whatmmorpg.com, was created to answer the exact question the OP presented. I'd absolutely welcome any comments via PM.
