Looking for friendly players

I tried posting this in the FFXI forums, and have yet to recieve a response.. maybe im just impatient lol, but im looking for a server that is highly populated and has a decent amount of helpful players that would be willing to assist and group up with a "newb" of the game.

 

any suggestions would be appriciated and thans in advance

 if i was lookn to get back into the game ide be all in with ya, but like me im betting alot of players are holding back gettn re involved till FF XIV set for late Sept, best of luck to ya, dont give up, im sure there are lots of players out there, just have to catch them inbetween plays ,

ahh good point about FF XIV.

At any rate thank you for the reply and hopefully I'll find a few responses leading me to a good LS. I too am looking forward to XIV but would also like to give XI a try seeings I never really got a chance to play it.

Asura is the most populated server, players are really helpful and friendly on all servers.

Nope, I played on Bahamut(which is also very populated, but Asura is the most based on stats). I can't play anymore because my debit card doesn't have Securecode which FFXI requires and I can't get a new one.

 

As for tips, switch your controls to WASD right away(the game calls it compact mode or something), the default controls are horrible. If your graphics look ugly and are really bright, download Windower(no, that does not mean it will be in windowed mode) for FFXI and run it through that, that will fix it. This happens to some people and it happened to me, dunno why. One more thing, the game is very group dependant level 10+, soloing would be slower and harder, but it is possible. The fastest way of finding groups is starting your own, not waiting for invites. To see all people looking for parties type /sea all inv 10-20(or any level range you want, you can invite any level because FFXI has level sync) and send them tells. The first common grouping spot is Valkrum Dunes, head over there at level 10.

I just got the game, and currently installing and patching it. Was only 9.99 so worst case scenario if I find it too difficult to group and what not im only out 10$ but I intend to give this game a fair chance and hope for the best

 

If there is anyone else observing this post I will be rolling on the Ashura server based on post replies and hope to see you all in game.
