Just came back and only one thing is bugging me

Rest.  I don't like it.  It takes way to long to recharge (slowing my fun down), and I have to click it to leave rest mode.

Anywho, I'm enjoying the game again, although I'm already seeing a lot of repetition of mission maps.  However, the player made content is really good.  Some of the best missions I've played in this game have been ones made by my fellow players.

I'm currently playing CoH while waiting on DCUO to come out.  I'm praying that I'm not disappointed again (like I was with CO).  What I'd really love to see is an announcement from the CoH devs that they're actually working on a CoH2.

Anywho, I'm rambling, so I'm off to fight a few more bad guys for a while.

I just started playin coh a week ago and I really don't see an issue with the resting. Having a blast personally and thats sayin a lot considering how many mmorpgs I've been bouncing between lately. One thing I noticed that bugs me is a lack of pvp goin on but that was fixed mostly when I switched to Freedom :)

    aah, City of heroes eh?

My first MMO and one that I often pop back to when bored.

The rest is as you say, annoying!  But they just want to be sure that when you rest its not smack in the middle of a battle, they rather you have defenders and healers.  Annoying I know.. but it is a very 'group' orientated game, solo'ing is possible but you need quite a lot of inspirations.

The only problem I find is that CoV and CoH together on a low populated server (as EU servers are) then people are spread too thin, even finding good super groups is hard.

    I doubt they'd make a CoH 2.

Endurance regeneration is tough on the sub 14-20 game when you do not have stamina, particularly for tanks.  Blue inspirations are great to keep rolling and often are cheap to pick up though.  Welcome back to the game!

Yeah and since you can buy inspis and trade up 3 for something else I don't think I've used Rest at all since returning 2 weeks ago myself.

I kill other players because they're smarter than AI, sometimes.

It is nice to see players coming back...and VERY nice to see some positive comments about the mission architect from a returning player, which I love playing around in. As an aside, don't skip some of the newer contact missions. There some nice doppleganger and mirror missions awaiting which are pretty cool. Although getting your behind handed to you by your own self can be pretty annoying. :)

Here's hoping that Going Rogue  (which I'm excited for) can call back a few more from CO in order to at least maintain the game fairly well in the face of DCUO.

The rest issue was a slight problem for me the biggest one though was the repetition you mentioned in game it can become mind numbingly boring and often did which is why I usually could never sub for more than a month or so and spent little time in long sessions but the community was great and it was fun for it's shortcomings.  Hopefully with DC and Marvel we can get some super hero mmo's with some complexity.

but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....

     Repetition feels like it is more of an issue for soloers.  Teaming, and the often unique compositions you participate in make the game a far more fun experience due to changes in tactics.  And if you're still rolling through everything, then the leader needs to up the difficulty level ( ' ;

Actually for those of you talking about CoH2, NCsoft reserved the rights for CoH2 last month. They havent announced when they will start working on it, but in 3-5 years its totally possible. They also now have contracts with Sony AND Microsoft, they wouldnt announce which game is coming for consoles, they hinted it would be Blade and Soul but alot of people think CoH2 could be there first leap into consoles to compete with DCUO

Rest can be abit annoying but there´s nothing stopping you from adding a few slots in it if it really bugs you. It is alot better now though I beieve the reuse timer has been lowered compared to around launch.

You most likely have a free respec if you´re a returning player and putting a few slots in rest and then respeccing out of it after you´ve hit the fitness pool won´t hurt.

All statements I make is from my point of view unless stated otherwise.

The repetitiveness of the maps is the games biggest downfall.  And everytime I get a cave mission, I have a "why God, why???" moment.

But despite all that, CoX is easily one of my favorite "welcome back weekend" games.  The instance repetition is much less pronounced when played on a seasonal basis.

For a 5 year old game; one of the first that dared to be a non-fantasy MMO, I think there's credit to be given for doing alot of things right!
