I say go for it; fact renew your sub for 60days, after that point you don't need to use cold-hard-cash...just isk to keep going.
To those complaining about ship control. This isn't a fighter-jet simulation...the ships respond as they should. Not really sure why everyone's gotta have WoW-controls to play a game.
Also for those not "in the know" EVE is player-driven, don't expect NPCs to make the world for you....the players do. Welcome to a REAL MMO; different isn't it?
PS: Those complaining about the game being broken.. only thing I can think of that's broken is the damn Bounty System...hide in 0.5 or higher and I can't touch you because CONCORD will kill me. So....what exactly is it that's broken?
The server - Any fight with more than 20 people in it is a lottery. Got close to 100 and you start seeing some very weird stuff indeed. This is the biggest cause of discontent, and they've achieved exactly zero progress in over 8 months since it became a problem. In fact it seems to be getting worse.
The 0.0 sov system. It can't have been easy to make something worse than POS warfare, but CCP have managed it.
The other thing that's broken is a large number of CCP's promises
Planetary Interaction is a clickfest
The corp management interface is like something Dilbert's Pointy-Haired Boss would work up.
Rockets
Assault Frigates
COSMOS
The fifth T3 subsystems
Treaties
And many, many, many more.
If you do nothing but run missions in hi-sec then EVE runs pretty well. If you try and play it as an MMO, then you start running in to problems. Of course, all MMOs have problems, but right now, CCP have their priorities totally bass-ackwards. They've lost touch with what their customers want, and they're trying to impose FoTM Sims/Farmville gameplay onto a customer base which is totally unreceptive to it. Meanwhile they've been neglecting long running issues, and they've now told the players that they wont even start looking at those issues for another 18 months. Patience was already wearing thin when they said this to the CSM, and when their Dev confirmed it in his devblog, things came to a head.
I have cancelled my subscriptions. I may come back if and when CCP start producing fixes and features their customers actually want, rather than what "the metrics" show we should want.
Well sorry to hear you feel that way, but there is nothing wrong with Eve. Sure, like any MMO it has some issues, but you play around them, not one of your points above is a problem you can't play around and some I don't consider problems at all. Take POS warfare, sovereignty is superior imo. Sure it could do with some improvements, but it is still much better than what we had before.
I was in a 200+ encounter the other day and had no lag. Maybe your computer needs some upgrades. The only problem with T3 is the expense, few can really fly the ships that can afford to replace them.
You are just bored with the game and expressing sour grapes. Some time off is a good idea for you.

Dude, you're delusional. This game is not "broken," but it is not functioning well either. There's a lot more people than just Malcanis here that are displeased. Check the Eve forums. And CCP's vocal direction is 180degrees from the expressed wishes of the players. The game is in scary shape at the minute, and that is undeniable.
