Hey all :] First i would like to introduce myself.

Many many years ago, i was introducted to my first MMORPG, RuneScape, in 6th grade, and easily became completely and utterly addicted to the game and loved the Wild. The wild was a Kill & Loot type of PvP. You either got killed, and lost everything, or killed and won glorious treasures from your fallen enemy.

Anyway, the time came, and due to RWT (Chinease Sweatshops) The game developers had to shut down the Wild and substitute it with boring PvP.

For YEARS i have been looking for a PvP oriented MMORPG with depth, customization, and most of all, Fun gameplay!

and i think i have finally found an answer for all of us.

Leage of legends, is a MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) Which is *completely * Focused around PvP. Unlike MMORPG's, every second of this game is fun :D I never find myself endlessly grinding for hours to have 5 minutes of fun like normal MMORPG's. And what i find best of all, is while this game is F2P, *Everything* can be earned in-game. So buying items from the cash shop gives a player no advantage :D. The only things that you cant earn, are "Champion Skins" which just make your Character/Avatar look different.

Now dont worry! This game does have a ton of customization and actually does have Levels, but your never going to end up grinding endlessly.

The only con i find with this game is a HUGE learning curve, the biggest learning curve i know of for any game.

Pro's:

Refreshing Graphic style

Cash shop is NOT a "buy to win situation"

There is a ?yearly? Competition with a $100,000 (U.S.) grand prize :D

Extremely addictive.

No grind!

Cons:

huge learning curve

The number of Champion's is over-whealming for a new player

Community can be a bit "negative" To new players

I gave it up after about six matches because the players were the most unfriendly mean and abusive to new players I've seen in any game ever.  I'd never played DOTA or any other similar game before.  I tried, I really tried but no one would explain anything and I got repeatedly cussed out because players were so afraid their precious stats would be ruined by having a new player in the game.

    So yeah.  No.

I can also roleplay the tower in a chess game and shout "is that a peasant at the horizon I see? I will smash it I will! Oh damn I broke one of my merlons!". -- maji

LoL is a great game and I have played it quite a bit.. but with sc2 coming out it will probably get shelved.

    Remember Old School Ultima Online

It's a fun game, but it's not very well balanced, especially with them cranking out new champions so quickly.  It's entirely luck based depending on who you get matched up against and what your team make-up is.  Some teams, despite skill, don't stand much of a chance against other combos.  Also, some characters have far more skill potential than others, leaving many lacking if you actually want to win consistently.

For example: a good champion, whether they're offensive or defensive, has the ability to perform their primary role well (high damage or damage absorption/crowd control) while still having abilities to run away and live.  Some champions are all front loaders and have no way to run, leaving them completely vulnerable to hit and runs.

I used to play it heavily until I saw these flaws in the higher brackets; some characters just can't compete.  It's not a bad game over all but I'd much rather Riot focus on balancing their current champions and added more maps to play on (there are only two maps currently) as opposed to cranking out new champion after champion.

First, the wild WAS NOT THE FIRST PvP, not even the first open loot PvP in an MMO, to my knowledge that title belongs to UO

Second, I didn't like Runescape or the PvP, your statement is an opinion, Period

Peroid.) The wild was a Kill & Loot type of PvP. You either got killed, and lost everything, or killed and won glorious treasures from your fallen enemy.

Like the poster above me said UO did full loot pvp before Runescape did and everyone was subject to it that went outside of town.  They didn't have to enter the "wilds" or whatever it is.  The suggestion that Runescape PvP was better than UO's is laughable to me but I know you runescape kids swear on it.

If you are looking for an MMO that has full loot like UO then really your only option right now is Darkfall or Mortal Online.  IMO I would go with Darkfall, we have an expansion coming up and even thought the grind is still somewhat tedious they did give stat gain a boost and a nice HP boost as well.
