How active is Anarchy Online now?

This was the first mmo I played and do think of it from time to time. I had a lot of fun when I did play. So how's the population now? Is it still alive and active?

Define "alive" and "active".

I play on RK2. Last time I logged in, the server was still on, so it's "alive". But the chat channel was pretty much dead and I only seen maybe a dozen people between RBB and Borealis.

Was pretty live at the birthday party, how many were just alts or pulled out of the dustbin solely for that occasion, I have no idea.

I hear RK1 is supposedly more active now, but I can't stand that server, I'd rather just hang the game up altogether.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I played on rb1, and because I invested so much into characters on that server, I wouldn't leave it.

Well it's good to hear. Anyone who plays on rb1 care to comment?

 I been playing since a month now , i used to play this game since 2001, just  so you know and AO golden years have past that for sure , but the game still has a population nothing like those popular mmo's .

Some very old orgs are still going like whispers edge and unity of the rose etc .... on the clan side , i was always a clanner :P

I decided to go neutral and live in borealis now seem like it's the place to be to get buffs or athen grid spot .

 

All and all Ao is still alive , it's not what it used to be but the community is awesome and there still fun , if your bored with easy mode mmo's Anarchy online still has that harcore feel to it that i always adored .

 

Weekend are way more busy then the week i noticed too

And how is the market going? I used to love travelling to those dangerous places to collect carb crystals to make nano's and sell them on the market. Is the market still busy?

If you play on Rimor the entire market is loot rights selling on the chinese gold farming network known as the neutnet bot. You can't get a team outside of crat/doc/enforcer/sold if you play you have to deal with the elitist scum to buy your items. Just take that into consideration when you make a new toon. The scum are in full control of the market. The server is slowly dying of its death grip. Greed> Need!!!

It's not really like that. All you have to do is get to know people and make friends. When that is accomplished, then you can get into some great teams.

Yes, it is.

And telling people it's not just makes for worse word of mouth when they try it and find out that it indeed is like that, than it would if they are just told the truth from the beginning so they know what they are going to find if they try it.

The game was quite active this summer when I resubbed.

Clan on RK1 had ppl in Old Athens, the chat was busy.

Getting a team was fast. usually I'd slap /lft  on and go about my busyness and bang invite.
