There seems to be this huuuuge disconnect between the awesomeness of every Aion video I see vs. what people actually say about the game.  I know, I know, graphics are not everything, but it just seems like impossible that a game that looks that great can get such a bad rep.  To me, it looks like a cooler, more unique WoW.  I mean everyone says you will grind and you will get ganked and the final bosses are hard but...isn't that what these games are all about?

    I believe you've answered your own question.If you accept all those things you listed or indeed enjoy those aspects thne Aion might just be a game you enjoy and do find awesome.Others do not enjoy what you've lsited or don't mind them if done well but found Aion's implementation of thme beyond their tolerance.

     

    Try it for yourself but make sure ,if you want to participate in fortress sieges in the end game,that your computer specs are considerably above the min specs listed for the game.The min specs will let you play solo or in small group actions reasonably enough but will explode during fort pushes.

    I bought it and played for more than a month and i dont like the grind,always kill mobs to level and the quests are not worth doing,maybe if there is potions and such but for XP no.

    I would like dungeons alot of them with a small story and through all levels,with armour and other rewards of quests.Mounts is somethign i really would like and it will come in 2.0.Dynamic quests like Guild Wars 2 is going to use would be the best thing to do.

    If there would be dungeons with epic quests and other sweet things the grind would be gone for me, i hate killing mobs for the way to max level.

    It's a really good game provided it's your kind of game. It's crap provided it's not. As the above poster said, if you have no problems with ganking and having to grind in most in-game activities (and you like the artstyle), then you might like it a lot.

    There are a lot of people who are literally in love with the game even with all its faults.

    The game looks, great, has solid music, and is a blast for anyone who loves pve AND PVP.  Best pvp/pve MMO out there today, and its not even close.
