Me and my warhammer friends (not table top fans),but we read the books and dive into the lore.. had many discussions about the Emperor and we came to one conclusion.
The Emperor's true name was either Bob or John... he didnt like the boring name,soo he decided to unnify humanity and be called "Emperor".
