I have a Geforce FX5900 Ultra, and technically speaking EQ2 ran fairly smoothly. Nothing can take away from the fact that the actual look of the game is hideous.
By your logic, If I ran Pong on a high end system it'd look like the Wimbledon Open.

LOL sure. Exactly why do you find the image I posted above hideous? If you prefer the surrealistic WoW graphics that is fine but calling EQII's hideous just shows your WoW fanbois mentality and makes the rest of the WoW fanbase look bad.

At your advanced age you should know better than to resort to using words like "fanboi" simply because you can't think of a more sturdy argument.
And congratulations on being the millionth person to post a good looking screenshot of EQ2 (of which there are many... I mean how hard is it to crank the settings to max and take a screenie of a particular arrangement that looks good?) and an average shot of WoW.
How about if I post a couple of videos comparing Gryphon rides in both games? Surely video would be a better way to judge a games graphics. Or would you rather I didn't do that?
I'm sorry you're unable to deal with the fact that I think EQ2 has some of the ugliest, unimaginativly designed graphics I've ever seen in a computer game.
It's called an opinion. There is no right or wrong. You think the game looks fantastic, and I'm pleased for you. Just don't state opinion as fact.

I am sure you can post whatever you want to make your point. It is not hard to lower the quality of any image or video. Post some images or videos from a legitimate website. I pulled the WoW's from the Blizzard site and the EQII's from Warcry for a fair comparison.
Obviously you are a WoW fanbois otherwise why are you on the EQII boards posting that the game looks like crap and WoW is the holy grail of gaming. I am playing both games and both are frigging good games, both have their good qualities. Just that graphics is not WoW's strong suit in my opinion.

You conclude that I'm a "WoW fanboi" simply because I disagree with you? A "fanboi" is someone who unquestioningly buys and plays games made by one particular company, and that doesn't describe me. If a better MMORPG was released tomorrow, I would drop WoW in a second so that's your "fanboi" argument demolished.
Also, you need to grow beyond the idea that the EQ2 forum is strictly for EQ2 players to post their opinions in. The thread is called "EQ2 vs WoW: An Initial Comparison" but you question my right to contribute to that comparison. I saw it on the "most recent posts" page and saw you stating your opinion as though it was uncontestible fact and decided to reply. I see nothing wrong with that.
The following videos are taken from third party sites with which I have no affiliation. They were both recorded towards the end of both game's respective beta periods. Hopefully they'll serve to provide clarity to this discussion and help people who haven't tried either game to form their own opinion, whatever that may be.
Note that the recording quality is actually lower in the WoW video than the EQ2 video before you start screaming "bias".
