I have never tried (or trusted palit), but video cards are divided into two forms:

Reference-Cards: These are the base designs which are manufactured and sent to the third parties to see. They also use a reference cooler. Due to them being mass produced they are a lot cheaper. They may be binned or not (I will explain this below).

Non-Reference Cards:  These cards come from the direct third party manufacturers. They take the reference design and build a video card BASED on the reference design. These cards are controlled by the Third Party Company that produces them. Only they create them and they tend to be more powerful, but much more expensive as well.

Binned Cards: Manufacturers create cards, but no one knows how good each chipset actually is...So manufacturers test each chipset at several speeds. Usually they overclock them. If all the tests pass, they are binned at a higher category. Usually one in ten cards get tested in most places. A fresh card may be untested and can overclock higher than binned cards...while some fresh cards may have been tested and will overclock lower.

Your Palit card is a reference design so its performance should be similar to the others. However Palit doesn't invest as much in solid capacitors and internals, but the 460 doesn't have heavy heat issues and doesnt need anything cutting edge to maintain integrity. Its performance should be like other reference cards +/- 5% - 10%
