PvE Max Profit /w Assault Ships

scars87scars87 Member Posts: 234

I'm about to fly a wolf in 4 days. I plan to earn some isk with pve with this ship. What type of things should I do to make the most profit with this ship? I was thinking of 5/10 combat complexs but it might be tricky. I also considered lvl3 quality 18 missions. I could also roam 0.1 - 0.3 systems and hunt battleships. What would you guys advise me to do for max profit with an assault ship?

    pve not sure.

fastest way to make money with assault ships is to bounty hunt. if you can fly a wolf you can fly a jaguar, pick a target hunt them down and kill them then trap pod and ransom or kill. generally be an asshole.

    all while training for hacs.

You can >DO< level 3 missions... the question is... why bother taking 10 minutes to break battlecruiser tanks when even a cruiser for a fraction of the price can do level 3 missions in less time?

Same issue with bounty hunting... You cant really get more than about 200dps if you go with close range weapons and you still have to take tanking into account, breaking battleships, especially high bounty ones... Well, its not fun.

Not a mission pro but I'm pretty sure range comes into play. With aggro and all (correct me if I'm wrong). I would think you would only lose this ship in any mission that was really worth any ISK, as you would have to get way to close to attack anything. losing a T2 ship will not help you Max profits : )

TBH I'm not sure about Max profits, but to maximize your playing ability you should roam as a tackler. It's what the ship was made for and will teach you a lot about the game. Just don't approach in a straight line....ouch!

You can do L3 missions in a Wolf but in general a well fit battlecruiser (or even a HAC) will do much better.

For one, Im not in a pvp corp, we have 1 or 2 fighter pilots. And your asking me to pod kill some player pilot for his bounty? And what...gain 1 or 2 mill max? Ha!

I know plenty about pvp and probing out players, I just don't have enough combat pilots to do that.

Anyways, I might just drop lvl3 missions and roam solo in .1 .2  belts in a dps fitted wolf. If I'm really confident in my t2 tank wolf, I could probe out a 5/10 complexe and do it with another assault frig pilot in my corp.

If you really want to fly an assault ship and wont consider another ship your best bet is to try and blitz level 3 missions and maybe some level 4s if you can fly a racial ships IE flying something like an Ishkur in a Gurista mission.

Blitzing missions is where you don't try to kill everything you just aim to trigger and complete the objectives so you can turn in as many missions as you can to earn loyalty points, not all missions can be blitzed and the ones you can rely on you having the relevant social skills like military connections to increase the amount of LP earned and to attempt this with level 4s you will really want the relevant racial ship but level 3s will be easy just fit an afterburner and a good rat specific tank and your speed will mitigate most damage.

Here's a good site with instructions on how to blitz individual missions as well as general guides on all missions:-

    http://eve-survival.org/wikka.php?wakka=missionreports

In all honestly you are better off going a more conventional route and getting a battle cruiser for level 3s, plexing im not sure about its not something I have a great deal of experiance with.

    Currently playing:

EVE online (Ruining low sec one hotdrop at a time)

    Gravity Rush,
    Dishonoured: The Knife of Dunwall.

    (Waiting for) Metro: Last Light,
    Company of Heroes II.

Yea, I cant really see where your coming from with this.

an Assault ship primarily is a pvp ship,  like any ship it can be bent and employed to do any task, but often there is always a better choice.

So if its money your after then I'd say get your arse to faction warfare,  systems are often litterd with player wrecks,  so I'd be tempted to put a salvager on and go salvaging / pvping

also you get faction Loyalty points in faction warfare, and the store holds special faction goodies which are also very profitable.  So it might be worth running level 2 missions in FW, whilst also looting player wrecks etc.

I spent a whole year trying to justify flying a jaguar around. T2 ships for the most part are made for pvp.

There are going to be a bunch of 'I can do this with this ship". Yes, you can do some level 3s in a wolf but you're going to be jumping out a lot and its going to take a while. You make as well just get yourself a Munnin or Stabber. You wont have to jump out and you'll do the all the missions about 3 times faster.

You might want to consider doing Faction Warfare missions, which I understand are extremely lucrative.

Didn't someone just make a post like this not too long ago?

PVE in Assault Ships is terrible. Get a good cruiser or a good BC and it will make your life so much easier. A BC isn't much more expensive than an Assault Ship. Assault Ships are PVP ships, not PVE.

    Edit:

Yup. It was you who made that thread. We told you it was a bad idea then and we're telling you it is a bad idea now.

Nothing has changed. It still is and will always be, a bad idea. After you lose your first 9 ships and realize it takes you 45min to kill 1 Rat Cruiser, you'll understand.
