I would have to say either Eve or darkfall. While I don't play either. I know they have massive areas and think it has been that way since launch.

From what I gathered from google (sorry Teala image) it seems Dark and Light (40000 square km), though did try the game, but never really played it apart from perhaps a few hours total but can't make a clear estimate of how big the game world was/is.

If it would be a question of biggest MMORPG as in players per server then EVE might fit in, but you asked landmass which eliminates EVE since it's space and not land.

Myself from playing experiance think Vanguard is pretty hugh, aswell Fallen Earth, am not able to comment on Darkfall (32000 km^2) as I have no experiance playing it. But from what I read it also seems to be a pretty big world.

Star Wars Galaxies is pretty big, but like many other MMO's devided into planets/loadzones.

Of the MMO's ive played ill have to say FFXI. Probably not the biggest but its pretty big. Then again I think that one released here with an expansion so not sure if it counts.

I ran across this a while back.

Dark and Light I think may have won this, if it was still around. WoW's original world is actually quite large. Some of the open ended games that were around were rather large as well. Ryzom and Shadowbane had a lot of miles to peel through.

I kill other players because they're smarter than AI, sometimes.

I reckon Asheron's Call 1 would be up in the top few...
