WoW has ruined me for all other games

I have no desire to play any games now except WoW. I crossed off all the video games I had on my christmas list.

I left Half Life 2 on my list, because I need something for an occasional change-of-pace.

But I have a good feeling that WoW will be the ONLY game I'll be playing regularly for the next year or so.

I guess this is a good thing, since I spend alot of money buying videogames I play for a month or two. $13 a month for just WoW will actually save me money in the long-run.

It's crazy. I've never been so hopelessly addicted to a video game before in my entire life. And I've only been playing for a week!

Gamespot was right - World of Warcraft IS the BEST MMORPG ever made an the rest don't even come close.

    I have.

EverQuest 2, while looking great in the polygon department, and the PvE is very group oriented, does not hold up against World of Warcraft in all departments. It may have more POLYGONS than World of Warcraft, but the arti and style is just not there. EverQuest 2 really slows down around 14 or 15. You have to group to do everything. As it is so far I'm level 27 in World of Warcraft and every class I know (even priests, the healing class) can solo effectively. There are also great perks to grouping, like having MORE fun, doing great instances with suprises and nice loot.

There are voice overs in World of Warcraft as well. Not as many as EverQuest 2, but the way they have it, you know you're going to be fighting someone hard when they shout out with a real voice.

I have played AO, RO, Horizons, EQ1 & 2, DAOC, RYL, Lineage2, SoR, EvE, CoH & WoW and i feel the same ... there isnt a mmorpg out there that could steal me as a new blizzard customer soon ;P

but other question have you played "WoW" ? because someone with 4-5 years mmorpg experience and many mmorpg tested/played will see in the first 10 min ingame that wow is the dream of every mmorpg player (ok gfx & content depends on taste) but noone could say anything about the ubah polished rest !

Yep, betatested it for three months and even once an alpha pressaccount for an early preview. And nope, it wasn't my dream. I'm currently playing EQ2 and that isn't my dream either just a bit more fun for me, as I enjoy crafting and group combat more then soloing (had enough of that in SWG, people call WoW too easy, bet theyve never played SWG with a composite armor and buffs). The next generation does seem promising though (Wish, D&L, POTBS, The fall)

However, I'll probably end up playing WoW (which, in all fairness, is a good MMO all the same) anyway since my whole SWG guild seems to want to go there.

BTW, happy to see you lot found your perfect MMORPG. I have yet to find mine.

I just find it very interesting how any thread on any bored eventually becomes a comparison to EQ2 and WoW lol

I agree with the original Poster. When you get a good mmorpg on your hands, it does make all other games rather "obselete". Which is a good thing for my wife because before the land of mmorpgs I would buy a game and beat it and then buy another....pretty costly

People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.

I know a perfect thread conversation that will never be diverted to an EQ2 vs. WoW discussion. It is mentally inconcievable how it could with a topic like the one I am thinking of.

    "My little cheese sandwhich."

A whole thread converted to sandwhiches and the art of sandwhich making. Unless some idiot popped in and said "Let's say WoW is represented by Ham, and EQ2 by Turkey... Turkey sure does own hame." And then someone would be like:
"No way! WoW...err...Ham owns Turkey! Loser!"

And all of this typing would then be for naught.

Anyway, to the original poster: I hope you don't lose your life over this game. Stay on your school work, if you are in school, and don't let the game become more important than your job or else you will eventually lose both of them, game and job.
I am glad that you like the game, and I will be happy to play with you maybe, but be careful :-D

ok ya'll, i think someone has to say this... nothing to do wit WoW, but ive wanted to say this for a while now...

Half Life 2 is not as cracked up as i thought it would be. I mean, its an unbelivable game with the physics engine and all, but, i think in a way i expected to much. Maybe its just not my type of shooter. There was a few problems I did have with the game though.

    1. The Vechicles: For how far i'm in, ive gotten to drive around in a boat and a dune buggy thingy. I have to see that both of those adventures using the vechiles was rather boring and ubsurd. Get in a vechile, drive to a small area, clear area, get back in vechile, continue on path. I was so happy when i got ride of it!

    2. The weapons: Again, im not far, but i've done some research and just recently found out i have every weapon except pheromone bomb (controlls ant lions) Where are all the photon laser beams and sniper rocket mega atom bomb machine pistols? The guns you do use arent to fun either, i switch between a few guns, shotgun, gravity gun, and pistol pretty much. Machine gun is terrible. Magnum is good but low bullets, same with plasma rifle machine gun. Grenades are...well...grenades... and the crossbow is fun but very hard to hit long distante men from, givign you no true sniper rifle. The only fun gun in the game was the gravity gun and shooting the saws through zombie lines. HAHA i still giggle like a school girl everytime i do it... in a manly way

    3. The puzzles: I mean c'mon, you've got a physics engine, be creative Valve. All the "traps" you can use in the game are hardly noticable and usually ineffective unless timed perfect. The thing is, when i get in a firefight, i dont have time to look for a clever way to save 18 bullets. Another "fun" puzzle is when you have to not touch to sand. Yep. Cant touch it. I finally gave up and just ran through it and took a bunch of damage but was way to impatient for that crud.

haha yeah... and this all has to do with WoW.... YEP.... i think ill stop now
