The contents of your post seems a bit gobbledygook. But to reply to your thread title, yes, there are 8 different class stories.
I think the OP is trying to say he's NOT an altoholic, which boggles me, but hey, to each their own.
To answer, your damn right I play all the classes. Even in games where I have to repeat the same content over and over. A GOOD mmorpg gives you a different experience with each class making the REPLAY value high and to top it off, you get your money's worth that way. More bang for the buck.
I'm even worse. With having the advanced classes in SWTOR, I'll end up making 2 of each class so that I can have one of each advanced class. What really helps this is having the choice from a large pool of RACES. Bring it!
yeah, i'll be there with you lolz....same situation here, i gotta see it all
TOR = KOTOR w/ Co-Op. The reason they want you to make new characters for story is to waste your time so you keep paying 15 a month for it.
What do you mean "wasting your time"? It's a game. It's SUPPOSED to waste time. If it's fun, you'll keep playing, if it's not fun, you won't play anymore.

While I enjoy good story, I never considered reading/watching a story in a game to be "fun". That is the main reason why I consider it "wasting your time".
I usually only play the classes that interest me, and the longer a play a game, the more I find other classes interesting. Usually I have a couple classes in mind that I want to start with. I like creating alts, but the real draw in this game, is I'd like to play through the different stories.
That is not, however, what the developers tell you to do at end game. There will be PvP, arena and open world, theres crafting, and space, and raids, and who knows what else they plan to release.
I feel it will be a tough decision when I get to max level, should I play the end game, or should I start the next story?
One of the first things I do when playing an RPG (online or not), is weed out the classes that I don't think I'll enjoy playing. SWTOR is the first game I've seen so far that made me want to play almost every single class (whether or not I play both Sith and both Jedi classes is still up in the air). So I think I'm responding to the overall feel of the OP when I say yes, I think I will enjoy re-rolling in TOR to see the other stories.
In other games, WoW for example, I've had trouble rolling new characters because I feel like I'm seeing the same crap over and over again. Actually WoW has enough content that you can roll a couple of alts without rehashing much content, but I often feel the "been there done that" syndrome when trying. Some games I'm playing have little-to-no alt worthiness due to linearity (Atlantica, STO and basically every offline RPG).
TOR will eventually lose my attention (like every other game at some point), but I'm hoping the different stories will keep me coming back and interested for a long time.
I want a mmorpg where people have gone through misery, have gone through school stuff and actually have had sex even. -sagil
I am altaholic so yeah this is awesome news for players like me. Mostly in MMOS its boring and dull to go through same content every time you roll an alt. SWTOR will encourage replay not discourage it.

I think he believes the question was really "What do you do at 'endgame'" and the dev says "Start a new character"
A spot on. Another generic MMO with a story line, which most of the time in terms of quality is even lower then Warhammer world based fantasy books. Another MMO which is going to fail to deliver anything new in the MMO genre.
Do they still wonder how to achieve a similar succes like WoW after so many copy cat failed projects like: WAR, AoC or Aion ?
How about some imagination ? Or is it all about investors too dull to actually take a risk and support finantially something different ?
I find it odd (ie, retarded, lame, stupid) that some of you would rather level up an alt and experience the exact same garbage every single time... I just don't understand how that could possibly be superior than having an entirely new experience each time.
If you don't like it? Play something else, no one cares.
I play MMOs the way i have one Char as Main and level it up - any Alts are there only for the purpose to play with friends in the circumstance a low level is needed and to have more storage room.
I never play a game again with another class to max level.

I like playing alts. 8 different stories works for me. Obviously I want more reasons to stay with a game indefinitely than rolling an alt, but sure.
But please don't go into binary thinking by assuming the devs response means there's nothing else to do once the story is completed. I'm just really tired of seeing people on this board take everything any dev says and applying the worst possible context to it.
To be fair to the OP he's usually pretty positive on the subject of TOR. This one complaint I can certainly understand. I'm in no way an altoholic, so I understand the concern here, though TOR may change that aspect of myself, it certainly is a nice way to handle the leveling experience. The past has always been ripe with boring alt mechanics requiring you to play the same content over and over.
Still on the subject of concern here, I see exactly where he's coming from. While he may be taking a quote and using it in the wrong context. It does raise the question "is this how they are approaching end game?". Which I would assume they will offer more, the question is, what do they plan to offer? Which we do not know the answer at present. That is the root cause to such concerns.

I do find it rather annoying that I will have to roll eight toons and level them all up to cap to experience the entire game.
I have played WoW on and off over the last six years and have only levelled three of my characters to the cap.
