I see where you are going. Yes every game makes promises and then hardly ever delivers. You are trying to say that the game mechanics which are essentially the game are promises that won't be delivered. Now if you're saying that every game that has come out is like GW2 I believe you are just saying that all MMO's are the same which they are not.

It is hard to say you have heard it before but remember the hype around WoW and some will say they weren't dissapointed while the hype around SWG all will say they were really dissapointed. Gamescom is a good place for them to have a playable version of the game to gauge an audiences reaction. I know the game has been in the friends and family testing stage for a little bit.
