Which MMO game will have the best PVP?

In your opinion which upcomming game will have the best PvP, in terms of: intensenes, balance, fun, ect.  For pvp my all time favorites are UO (pre tramel) and Shadowbane, i enjoyed Daoc to a point, but it wasnt nearly as intense as UO and SB. I played the WoW beta, and my wife has the game right now, i will play around with that... But from what i have read, Mourning and DnL seem to be the top of my list. Which Games are you looking forward to for PvP and why? I think Wish could have been sweet, but i dont think i like their PvP system.

Being able to see as far as you can in DnL is also a plus for PvP.

And there are also fortresses, etc. to conquer, which I don't think it mentions there.

Uh excuse me, Guild Wars is first of all not a mmorpg, second of all , it is the most unbalanced game i've ever tested, The game feels like wonder boy on sega 8bit , single player game / cooperative, then you get trown into a 10x10 meter arena with random people. Guild wars is a shame to the mmorpg market, they should have made that game for the consoles, it has no place on pcs, no wonder there's no monthly fee, who wants to be prisonner of a static world with nothing but repetition/grinding ? If you think that guild wars will have better pvp than dark and light , you're simply clueless or a moron.

I have played guild wars in the 2 open events, haven't pre ordered it to get my keys to the event weekends. And to be honest the PvP and balance wasn't that bad. The arena was a random team vs a radom team. You have also a tournament, where you just make a team and start in a sequence of pvp battles and gain fame. The you have the guild battles as well, also organized groups can be created. You just need to tune your skills and think and use tactics.

For the others I don't know, I'm not planning on going to purchase the whole bunch of games. But think balance is and always will be an problem issue. This is just because it always the mmorpg changes and evolve. There will always be a skill that is getting finetuned and bring another balance than expected. And then in PvP you have those people that don't know how to play a profession and complain of losing to people that know how to play there char and the loser just whine the other class is overpowered.

Dark Fall all the way. Alot of people think it is vaporware but hell shadowbane was vaporware for the longest time. Dark Fall is taking a few ideas of UO along with  new interesting style play.

    Massively Multiplayer Online RolePlaying Game.

Of course Guildwars is one.  That's precisely what it is.  Just because it doesn't fit the cookie cutter mold of some others that doesn't change it's basic nature.  You have toons, you advance levels, you get loot, you do quests, you craft, you roleplay (if you want) ... and in this case, there's an elaborate PvP system.  So they're trying a new payment system ... so what.  That certainly doesn't change the nature of the game.

There is so much tunnel vision on this board sometimes it just boggles the mind.  People get some narrow idea in their mind and just can't conceive of anything else.

The best MMO game for PvP is without doubts Planetside (and with the Merit Commendation it will improve its RPG side ;))..

I would consider it a an ORPG... There isn't much "massively multiplayer" about it.

How can Guildwars be a shame to the MMORPG market when you say it isnt a MMORPG eh?

Anyways, Guildwars gets my vote too, I loved PVP in that game, since it really does rely more on skill and teamwork than gear and level. Dark and Light will have awsome PVP too.

I am surprised no one has mentioned City of Villains.

IMHO hands down will be the best PvP out there. My reasons for thinking this:

    1) No balance issues.  By the time CoV comes out, CoH will have been out for more than a year. That's a full year the Dev's will have to correct balance issues, and trust me, the Dev team is the best in the industry, (from what personally have seen anyway)

    2) You will have had a full year or more to decide which character you like best, and understand the strategies.

    3) there is no player driven economy or tradeskills which means everyone is on a "level" playing field.

    4) the combat system lends itself to PvP moreso than any other MMO I have seen.

    5) wanna attack your arch nemesis' hideout? go for it, but ya better be prepared....

    6) It's still in development and the Dev are acceptiong ideas from the community on a daily basis....

    there that's my 2 cents...
