I tried to execute the file but it says that I do not have enough free space.. I have 30 GB SSD on my primary drive. Secondary HDD is 1TB and the rest is 300 GB and 500 GB.
How do I tell FFXIV.exe to place the file in a different HDD?

This is ridiculous! There's no option to customized your installation preference.
You can choose where to install it later but you need enough free space for it to get to the part where it lets you choose. I temporarily moved some files off my C drive and then moved them back after I chose to install it on my D drive.
I got it guys, thanks! I had to disable hibernation. I saved 3 gb-percent by disabling hibernation! God, it saves me money!
