Can someone clarify the harshness

How many classes are you allowed to make with the CE. I thought only 1 main and 1 non-combat, non-skilled bank like only toon..

But I keep reading about mixing and matching stuff from other classes/jobs..  Like lancer with mining skill debuffs (crack armor or something of the sort) or Lancer with healing skills but on a higher cd and less amount healed..

But in order for your main to have any of the skills from your alt (so to speak), needs to be at the same or higher lvl as your main and or vice versa.

But since you can only have 1 main you have to pay a extra amount per month for a alt, don't you think that is a little harsh. I mean the game is already starting to get a hardcore feel for it which is cool, but dang making us pay extra for our own crafter ... Am I wrong about this? Is their an angle by doing this only 1 main thing?

You only get one full character and one mule (retainer), yes. More will cost you extra per month (more retainers cost less than actual characters).

Your single character can be any class in the game and can switch freely when not in combat, in addition to mixing skills between classes.

Mains do not take anything from any alts you buy, as they are also independent characters that can also play and switch classes at any point they choose.

Unless there's been something else revealed that i haven't heard of, I just think you confused classes with characters.

Hi. I guess for some it might seem harsh to only have one character available. But that one character can do everything (including crafting which you mention as an "alt job") - so as far as I know the only thing you're really missing out on is playing different races.

Personally I really enjoy this concept. My first MMO experience was FFXI. After a few years of playing WoW, I must say I miss the unique feeling of FFXI characters. One name. One person. One single point of contact. You either knew who you were talking to, or you could ask others for references. Having to deal with 5+ alts for every single person I knew in WoW was ... annoying, to say the least.

This system also puts a bit more emphasis on proper conduct ingame. You build and maintain your own reputation. There's no hiding behind unknown names. There's no hiding from being a royal douchebag. You make your bed and all that. So I guess if you're the sort of person who can't behave properly online - you might find this concept harsh. If you're a friendly guy who tend to play fair and make friends while doing so - you'll probably enjoy it.

Just make sure you pick a character with an ass you don't mind looking at for a long while, eh? :)

  • Many people asking same question, this game not like clear end-game and everything in few months and start to make alts for fun.It takes huge amount of time get something done on your main character.

Btw if you really started to like healing on your character instead of dpsing like lancer class, just reroll and start making healer with some dps abilities?

If you saying anything like "I want a class can heal awesome and can DPS awesome!", sorry you can't add that rule into MMORPG games, you can only be pro on one thing .

So your saying I can be a Gladiator and lvl to say 8 and then switch to a Archer and lvl to 8 and then switch to a Miner and lvl to 8 and then be able to go back to the Gladiator and use the non-class specific skills from the Archer and Miner on my Gladiator? If thats true, Holy you know what.. Talk about moderation...  lol
