Still find it kinda funny people are throwing the game out because of one mini-game, oh well, sucks to be them. I'd dare say they was never interested to begin with.
I dont like it, but then when I found about this game, I didnt expect spacecombat at all. The ships have an interior, its just too bad that the interior isnt used during spacecombat. I really like that part in SWG JTL.
But it wont matter for me for deciding to buy SW:TOR or not. That depends on how ground content will be.
I will be happy with it if they add pvp with open world space combat. I don't mind the tunnel, but I am hoping that is not all that they will have for space.
They did say they will have some space pvp eventually, lets hope it is more free roaming open world space pvp and this tunnel thing is just an opener for it of some kind.
The only way they really could implement pvp in space is to make a more open world off the rails space map. They did say that you will battle your way to destinations on the map or something, hopefully those destinations are space pvp zones in an open world.
Regardless of this, it will not effect my decision to buy this game. I will still be buying it for the ground game.
Ok, I'm not buying that. I played wow and I know what the graphics look like and the graphics in TOR are far better. The graphics are pretty damn good imo. That old WoW has better graphics arguement will not work here. It is false and you know it is. People will say anything to make a game look bad, but we have eyes so we all know it is bologne otherwise we would not be playing MMO's if we couldn't see them.

Not to mention the comment had absolutely no relevence to the poll and topic at hand.
Not terribly impressed, but nothing that would cause me to play, or not play, the game.

WoW was being build with an in house engine in 2002, release 2004. SWTOR is using the Hero engine sold by Simutronics Corp, which didnt come to the market until about 2007 or 2008.
I had hopes it would be more akin to the space combat in SWG.
The ground combat does not interest me at all (at least what has been shown in videos). It looks boring so I pretty much had no intentions in buying TOR before they mentioned any space combat being implimented into the game. Had Bioware fleshed out a more robust space combat feature I would have thought about buying the game, but now I'm back to having no interest.

I was kind of hoping for a JTL like flight slim aswell. Anyhow, I didn't even know if they would have space combat, so it is not that big of a deal. My focus in this game is on the ground aspect.
I can assure you that this game will not be as boring as you are thinking, since you actually have a purpose to go out and do pve and whatever. This game will keep you on the edge of your seat begging for more. The combat looks pretty damn good, despite what you keep hearing from some of the people that never wanted to play the game to begin with.
Probably be one of the least boring MMO's around when it comes out if not the least.

As far as the space combat, definitly better looking graphics. However I wonder if he was talking about the close ups of the NPC in the beginning. I do have to agree that the NPC's only look slightly better then WoWs character models
Although i'm not going to buy the game since it's P2P, and although I lost interest in the game some months ago (didn't liked the combat), I have to say I like the space combat. It's a good feature.
I just have some questions:
Can we use the ship the way we like it in the normal gameplay (I mean, inside the atmosphere)?
How many ships there are or will be? Can we customize our own ships?
What kind of weapons there will be in the ships?
Can 2 players play in the same ship?
There will be PVP with ships?
Post the links to the infos if you can please I have friends interested in the game.

1) There has been no talk of atmospheric flight at this time, but I wouldn't count it out totally.
2) Each class has a specific customizable ship.
3) Ships supposedly only have lasers and rockets so that when PvP is introduced they won't be overpowered (I think I read that article correctly as that being the reason...?)
4) No talk on multiplayer in the same ship as far as I know, but supposedly you're able to take your team with you in your ship. Not sure about in combat at this time.

Honestly I've been burned by too many MMO's in the past few years. I hate to get my hopes up, especially when what I've seen and read about doesn't perk my interest enough, other then the possibility of a sweet space sim (like JTLS). I didn't expect Bioware to pull off a JTLS space sim feature so I'm not gonna sit here and whine about what they decided to impliment. It's their MMO and I'm sure it will be fun, just not enough to get me to buy TOR when its released, since I had no real previous interest.
As far as giving the game a shot, I will, but not with my wallet. I will either try TOR if there is an open beta I can squeeze into, or I will wait till they have a free trial. This goes for any future MMO's I'm interested in as well. I don't want to blow 50-60 bucks for a game in a genre I'm pretty much tired of.
It only shows how lost Bioware is in the Star Wars universe... They don't get it at all
Its a shame... Had hopes for this when it was annouced... It all went downhil from that point.
I'm going to have to question how exactly the space combat proves that BioWare is lost in the Star Wars Universe. Can you expand on that or is this what those kids these days call trolling?

I honestly thing free trials right off the bat may be good for some of these games. Lots of people start a game off on free trial decide they like it and buy it.... I dunno about right at launch , probably hurt their revenue, but if the game is as good as I am thinking maybe not. May get a few subs of some people that felt like you did about it.

Not enough options. Choosed nothing.
I wouldnt call the space footage something which TOR would fit, but its ok for arcade mini game.
EvE doors
See the best doors on EvE-on!

And I voted yes.
poll seems skewed already 1 postive option,no neutral options and 3 ways to be negative heh.
Bad poll.
anyone who doesnt play because of this wasnt interested in playing in teh first place, or didnt know what the game is even supposed to be.
Apparently stating the truth in my sig is "trolling"

ToR's graphics actually pre-date WoW

Adding a rail system for space combat in a MMO, especially in a Star Wars universe is lame. Am I disappointed in the feature?Yes.
Will I not play the game? Heck yeah I am playing!
Even if the space combat is bad, there is still allot of potential for the ground game and story build up. No one ever likes every aspect of a game.
Not terribly impressed, but nothing that would cause me to play, or not play, the game.

dissapointed, but still excited about the ground game, and hoping they expand space alot.
