How are these determined: some ppl w/ 1k + posts are novice ranks while I'm advanced...?

 

is it something like posts per day over the last week?

MikeB throws all of our names in a hat, and whoever's name gets pulled out gets a banana sticker... I mean, gold star.

I heard in another thread that you lose rank when you make short posts though, so I assume the reason I bleed stars is because of my snappy one-liners. Frankly though, I couldn't care less. There are some serious bigots/scumbags in the religion and politics section at 5 full stars, and it would just totally throw people off on how they actually are.

I've also noticed that every time I get a warning or temp ban I lose big chunks of it, but I consider that a war wound that I flaunt proudly in service to common sense.
