Clearly not seamless from the outdoor zone into the city. Maybe not the biggest thing to be bothered about, but still a fact. As far as map travel goes, sure, you need loading screens. Perhaps that is better than running through the dynamic world? Not sure....
The load screens you see are both the products of jumping from waypoint to waypoint and dev h4x. PAX will give us some english playthrough/walkthroughs, hopefully we will get more insight.
Some parts of the game do look pretty damn fun. May or may not be my kind of game, but I am honestly not in the business of hating on games just for the sake of hating on them.
I actually am looking forward to seeing alot more from this game.

Well you do need to discover the waypoints first before you can map travel to them.

Glad to hear it. I'm sure there will be something in there for you to enjoy in the game.

I think we need to clarify a few points that people seem to miss about persistence, instances, seamless, and not seamless. The first few pages of this thread really saddened me when people thought persistence meant WoW style. I thought people knew more than that.
Persistent -- You are capable of running into other people, and everyone shares the same exact map. Persistence has nothing to do with how the data is loaded for the next zone.
Instancing -- Everyone and their party get their own version of the map/zone, and they are completely separate from everyone else.
Seamless -- You can walk from zone to zone without dealing without load screens.
Not Seamless -- You face load screens while moving from zone to zone.
How the data for the zone is loaded != Whether people can interact in the zone.
Personally, whatever Anet decides is a better, more efficient way to load the data for the zone is fine by me. They stated that the world will be mostly persistent, which from the demo it is. They never once said that the world would be seamless.
Also, when you map travel you really can't escape a load screen. You need to load entirely different data all at once, rather than it be gradual loading.

It also means that the world keeps going (living, breathing) when you are away...from either any zone you've been in, or...logged out of the game itself. The world, and activity IN it, persists in your absence.

I added the highlighted part.
But zomg....how dare you try to assert performance and format definitions that we've been using for years and years with consistent meaning! Don't you know that the definitions of any or all of those words are up for debate depending on whether or not someone feels like criticizing some part of the game that requires a newfangled usage or utter obliteration of the original meaning of said words?
SACRILEGE.
On topic: I think it looks like it's coming along quite well. I love the less obtrusive UI (hope it stays either small-ish or customizable). The environments look expansive and compelling. All in all....I'm definitely "sold" on at least paying very close attention to this one. Which...considering that I have watched assorted other MMOs come and go with little to no interest...is a good thing for me to get to feel...finally. w00t
This is crazyness, some bald guy yelling with a big crowd throwing their hands up in the air. Hes giving out mousepads or something, press events are so wierd.
Seems it was the same live demo as yesterday. Btw, lol at the game crash
Well I do understand that their first public showing will be the same as for the press but hell I hope they will show us something different on friday and saturday.
Sseeing the same three things (shatterrer, earth-elemental, the weird yellow swamp thing) all day long wont be that fun
For example I wanna see more parts of divinitys reach or the minigames, they said they are already in it and in major cities where the demo takes place so it would nice to show us em (as well as bar brawls!! I so wanna see some bar fights yummy:D )
I think I actually spent way more time reading and theorycrafting about MMOs than playing them

This is not a game.

Of course.
