Making a poll on professions in a game like Guild wars 2 is pointless because you can create so many different toons with builds. I see ranger at 17%..... I see that number going up especially if your new to guild wars and never played it before. In GW1 the ranger in my opinion was the only profession that can go into any dungeon any elite mission and complete it with other rangers and there pets....well before the champions came out. If you have not played GW1 I encourage you to go out and get it and play it, the world is still populated but sometimes it's hard to complete missions.
Very highly probably a charr warrior as my main character, and most likely a ranger nord too... Eventually a ritualist sylvari or something like that, cause I'd greatly like to be able to control a forest spirit
Other classes and races don't inspire me that much at the moment, although I could rebuild my human mesmer I used to play in GW1 cause it were quite funny...

... I didn't really understand your post... You do know that Guild Wars 2 is a completely different game from Guild Wars 1, right?
GW2 ranger retained many similarities to the GW1 ranger but for the most part they are completely different due to the fact that you have to have a pet at all times as a ranger in GW2.
And wtf are champions? Are you talking about the title?
Idk. Basically the point of making the poll was to see which profession are people going to try out first based on the videos. Like which one appeals to ppl the most.

I'm probably one of those people who just get wet.
At the moment im very attracted by the Warrior. The skills look fun. I can't wait to do the aoe fire with bow -> swtich to dual axe and whirling axe combo with fire
Still holding my breath for the rest of the professions. For now Warrior indeed
Edit
Although the Banner thing could be a nuisance to me. I like to be mobile while on the battlefield especially as a melee.
I hate that all games have to stick a pet on the ranger... come ooon! screw the pet, get rid of it, figure out new ways to make them viable, I love rangers, but I hate micro managing that damn thing.
Haven't decided if I'm gonna try this game yet, but if I do, I think I will go Warrior, for the above reason.
Not all games. I didn't remember aion having ranger with a pet and I'm almost sure that hasn't changed since SM is the true pet class in that game.
EQ2 rangers don't have pets. /shrug
Anyhow....
If we get the choice of mesmer....I will play that. If not, I will start with the elementalist, probably.
I like to play a warrior profession for my first toon in a new game. They are easy to play and let me ease into the world. I love me some alts so will eventually try it all if I stay playing for any amount of time.

I think its going to be fine. If you don't want to be a banner dependent warrior, then don't focus in that direction while developing your warrior.
Although, I'm sure its going to be pretty amazing. Imagine you're in this really tough epic battle with some friends at your side. All of you are about to go down, but then this high level Warrior leaps into the fray, SLAMS his War banner in the ground next to everyone, giving everyone combat boosts, and then starts to go to work on the monster. Now thats inspiring, and inspire is what warriors do...

Poor rangers... how can this happen ... This class normally ends on top of any class poll in any game...

Warrior for now, unless they release an assassin then for me it is daggers in the back :P
