You know you can have an open and instanced world, right? It's been explained too many times on this forum to repeat, just don't use words you don't understand, please, you cause more confusion for the ignorant.

    - The game has PvP and PvE. PvP will be separate from the game, an area called The Mist. Doing it this way Anet can balance skills for PvP only and not ruin how they work for the PvE part of the game and vice versa.

    - Races have sub-races. Example: Human - Lion's Arch, Charr - Magic sect

    - There will be no second classes. Only 1 class and the race.

    - No class dedicated to healing first killing second. No healer, monk, medic, etc

    - Anet is trying to remove the "set in stone rule" about doing MMO's and for that part RPG with Warrior-Mage-Healer class triangle love affair.

    - Returning classes: Warrior, Elementalist, Necromancer, Ranger

    - You can change skills and stats anywhere except while fighting.

    - As a Ranger you can have a total of 3 pets stored (using 1 at a time) and can change between them on the world.

    - Pets have a skillbar of their own.

That was one thing I had really enjoyed in GW1 Beta. Skill gems dropping.  You would kill a boss, and he would drop skill gems.  You could turn those gems into skills that you could use (temp if not your profession), or keep them forever if you were that profession.

I hope it's a little similar to that, rather then, kill x Boss, always get y skill.

hex ? hex removal ?  too complicated - removed ! Conditions are still in.

second class ? how many konw how to use it ? - removed ! Races are the new Secondary class

energy managemenet ? switching sets ? energy denial ? too complicated - removed ! Energy management is still in, in the long term, you switch sets for new skill sets. I agree that the energy situation at the moment is a little worrying..

body blocking ? how many ppl know how to stop a flagger and when ? - removed ! You can still stop projectiles hitting people by moving into the way. Would be nice if mists had collision.

interrupts ? knowing the other's skills and what to stop ? too complicated - removed !  I very much doubt they are removed.

oh, now we also dont have to worry of W vs W ping !

groups ? waiting for other good ppl to join and coordinating with them ? too complicated, lets go solo - removed !   Groups still exist, they are just more fluid.

oh, now we dont have to worry of the ventrilo problem anymore.

what do we have left ? too little ? lets add JUMPS ! YEEEE!  Dodging is awesome.

maybe some crafting ? ye, why not.... Crafting is awesome.

are we done ? No, there will be many more announcements to come..

There will be some use of instancing, but it is mostly open persistent world.

I appreciate the thread's intentions btw, but honestly I believe half the people who claim they are uninterested in GW2 because they disliked GW1 are trolling...

Nobody should make such large assumptions - and if you're even the slightest bit interested you should take the time to do some basic research atleast (not that questions aren't welcome on threads like these - the fewer misconceptions the better).

P.S. (None of that was directed at anyone in particular.)

I wasn't a fan of GW1, but I am definitely willing to keep an open mind.  I am happy to hear that the majority of the world is now persistent...having only the cities persistent was one of the biggest reasons that I didn't enjoy GW1.  After all, an MMO should actually feel like there are people in the game other than your immediate group and in the cities only...
