Blizzard delaying additonal copies of WOW???

Today at my local electrionic boutiques i was checking to see if there were any copies of wow left (seeing if they had sold out yet).  The manager proceeded to tell me that blizzard is delaying the production of additional copies of WOW untill they can fix the server probs(lag, overpopulation).  She said they are doing this because the never expected that WOW would have this much success.   Just reporting what i have told.

    yes that makes sense, nobody has those collectors edition...image

    They need to buy a lot of new servers, fast!

    They don't need more servers, many of the new servers are empty... Blizzard keeps begging people to join the new servers but as of now half the servers have too many people, and about half the servers don't have enough people.

    Local PC Clubs shelves were full of WoW copies, they are putting them out like hotcakes it seems.

    i have no idea if they are delaying copies or not really... but i do know that the eastern and central servers are slam full and the mountain and pacific servers are nearly empty because of the trouble at launch. I made a character on an eastern server (my time zone) the first day when it was still low and then the pacific severs went down and all hell broke lose... when i start another character i'm going to have to think about pacific severs since they are so low... I keep thinking about moving now but i'm level 20 and i don't really want to go back and do those quests again which is what i think everyone else is thinking too...

    oh well, so i guess the point of my story is if you get the game now give some serious thought to playing on pacific or mountain servers... you'll save yourself some hassle

    This is a common issue for not just WoW but generally most successful mmorpg.EQ2 has a a similar problem with half the servers full and other half at light to medium load.

    I find it funny that people would rather stick to a server that is constantly filled and keep their 1 day old char then move to a new one.And lets face it very few people came into this games in a guild.

    the problem is that most people want to be on the same server as their friend because they want to party with them so they stay on the same server.

    Well, if people insist on staying on full servers, they will continue to get qeued. Really nothing Blizzard can do about that 'cept force people to change, or maybe offer to transfer their characters to another, not as heavy loaded, realm. Not that I think alot of people would accept a tranfer anyway

    Probably cause their factory machines are overheating due to the huge amount of copies they had to release and sold out within days after launch.

    It's sick how many stores are sold out around my area of WoW copies.  Heck the store I work for cannot get anymore!!!!  My friend and I had to go all the way to an EBgames which was the only store to still have some copies left YESTERDAY!!!

    Yeah I got my copy of WoW cause I finally decided to buy the game, which ownz, but believe me we were very lucky that EBgames still had some and apperantly you are right about the delayed copies since they said that was their last shipment for a week for WoW. :P
