Although I enjoy the genre, I don't understand how some people play MMOs ALL the time. I have to occassionally have some single player game experience, or I suffer from horrible burnout.
I had a boyfriend a few years ago who used to do the same with FPS games, so I know it's not just a symptom of MMO games. But I would think it would be like food....sure, strawberry shortcake is yummy, but you wouldn't want to eat it all the time....
First two are released in 2010, I think, but I guess it doesn't mattert. Anything from Paradox Interactive and Matrix Games as well. I heard people discussing how 2011 will be golden when it comes to gaming, but why exactly? I don't know that many games being released during the year. What are the notable ones?
Civ is suppose to release next month, or so said the EB games guy to me last week....
The reason so many here talk about great year is because more than a single AAA MMO releasing then and some of them are so large than nothing equal have released since Wow.
TOR will be the most expensive computer game ever. GW2 is also a giant in the making, 75 persons just in the art team...
Then there are many other interesting MMOs coming out like TERA, Rift, NWN and possibly WoDO and Copernicus (not betting any money on either but it is not impossible).
We are used to 1 or possibly 2 interesting game usually by small studios and now we are getting a lot at the same year and some of those games features very different and new ideas.
For regular PC games it is not that big difference from other years but it will be a MMO year.
2. Europa Barbarorum 2 (Total Conversion Mod for Medieval 2 Total War Kingdoms)
3. Elemental - War of Magic
4. Arcania 4 - A Gothic Tale
5. Diablo 3 (Wary of Battle.Net & Blizzard)
fyi **User has never tried Planescape Torment, Civ Series or Witcher Series but would like to**

Games That Didn't Make It
6. Witcher 2 (never tried the first one would be in top 5 instead)
7. Guild Wars 2 (the only mmorpg that I would consider playing after being burned out from the top 5 pc games)
8. Civ 5 (Extremely Wary = DRM & Steam)
9. Dragon Age 2 (Wary of Bioware, Nickle & Dime DLC, Bugs/Missing Content, Crippling Bugs in DAO Patch 1.03, 6 months to release patch 1.04, Disappointment In Main Characters Race - Options and finally not continuing on with the story direction of Morrigan, Warden and Alistar etc.
10. World of Warcraft - Cataclysm (Wary of Battle.net & Blizzard, Same Old Character Models, Cartoon Environment and same Core Mechanics with a twist of lemon)
11. Star Wars - The Old Republic (Please Reference #9, Also WOW with Light Sabers, Doesn't Like Star Wars)

Oh, okay, thanks. I probably confused MMORPG's with gaming in general. It doess seems like pretty good year for MMORPG's indeed.
