Storyline, Quest and world dynamic

There are WOW Clones are every where.  Final Fantasy is not wow. People complain about no jumping. Granted, it may be cumbersome when navigating certain landscape. Yet, Kiting mobs and Jumping around is WOW style combat. Final Fantasy has been more traditionally turn based. Is it bad, NO, It's different.  Jumping did not play a role in FF11 and the game rocked. Jumping can also cause many bugs and slow development. I started playing wow years after it was released. Have I jump off a cliff , got stuck and had to call a GM, Ohh Yeah!

The next issue is the auction house,  removing the auction house from an mmo just maybe the best thing I've heard in a long time. I have no information on the barzaar but if it limited to crafting items that would be golden. Real Money Traders, ninja looters, and bots can not only be annoying. They can down right take the fun out of the game. I am playing Aion, this game is a grinder but not so bad if you find a good spot.   Good spots for mats and mobs where taken by mobs. Just picture you need 3k exp to level it's way past time to sleep but you want that level and a bot steals you mob. A bot Steals your mob, the next and so on. Now you have to find lower level mobs and kill like 20 of them of, before level. Just because some fool is trying to sell game money for real cash.  Here is may favorite example, I am playing WOW and raiding has a one week cool down. I need these Glove to complete my epic set. They have not even dropped for one month. I pug a raid and the Gloves drops, the looting was changed in the mist of battle.  Instead of rolling for the gear " Korean Nerd Cafe" Guild takes the drop and tries to sell it for a huge amount of gold to either sent at the A H or RMT. Need less to say I was engulfed in nerd rage and wanted reach through my PC screen and kill them. Bottom line no A H no problem.

Two day cool downs, easy argument there. One week cool down to do raids at level 80 and no one whines. As I have read, it is easy to work around. Friends and link shells, one person picks up eight quest and the next does the same. Wash and repeat.

Lastly, the mouse movement issue. Yes, the UI should be as fluid to use as possible for every region. SE should not say garbage like,  users in japan use game pads and screw everyone else and their game play culture.  Switching between game pad and keyboard. Yeah, that could be annoying. I have seen posts that full keyboard control is just as good, if not better.

So, those are the issues that everyone is talking about. Here is a new issue, the one that matters to FF players. Tell me what you think about storyline, quests and world dynamic.  In WOW and clones until end game, it is a grind. The quests are not even worth reading.{ Note WOTLK was better than the rest. I actually, read some of those) Most quest are get five of this item, kill ten of this mob and craft that. FF11 did have some of that, granted. The fact is the quest where better. Travel the world for three keys or camp on this day, at this time, for a NM it was fun. End game, I didn't care every level and most quests where fun and something new. Rankings in FF11 where important to get PT's the quest sometimes, where tough. The story could have been a bit better, it was better than any other MMO I've played. The world was I place that I just wanted to spend my time in. What do you think as readers of blogs and beta tester of this game in that perspective?

I don't necessarily agree with your stance on the other issues in the game, but to address your question:

There's guildleves and there's the main storyline.  The main storyline quests play out pretty much exactly like they did for FFXI - lots of cutscenes with NPC text dialogue and your character poking in.  You'll run around between different NPCs to trigger these cutscenes.  Occaisionally, there will be a bit of instanced gameplay.

The guildleves are just "kill x of y mob" quests, and I hear some of them can be escorts too, though I didn't see any like that in beta.  You can get crafting and gathering ones too, but they aren't any more complex story-wise.

I honestly don't know if they are going to put the normal quests like those that appeared in FFXI into FFXIV.  From what I've seen in beta and heard from dev interviews, it seems likely that guildleves and the main story missions are going to be the extent of the content, but I can't say for sure either way - SE has made no mention of them.

Are they still useing the same keys as the old one? i tryed it for a week and i did not like that the normal arrow keys did not work for walking/runing....I am used to the normal up, down, left and right arrow keys to move and after a while i could no longer kill anything that gave me exp...everything in the broker costed more then what i had in gil

    Think think pink

I think the guildleves are fine for launch, and end game is going to be largely patched in after launch, along with PvP minigame. As for the story, well if you like FF games you'll probably get into it, but if not I guess you won't. XIV isn't like WoW, so if that is your cup of chai might be wrth thinking about whether you can adapt to the game.
