Can you imagine what that's going to be like?

Every single dynamic event will be a massive epic battle!

Those bunnies will try to eat the farmers' watermelon crop - but they'll be 10,000 bunnies, and an army of players beating them back lol!

    ...Queensdale simply walks into One?

    This is not a game.

Level 1 experience will be EPIC and full of action! I can't feel the same way with other MMOs starting areas. Other than that, I'll be missing the small community.

Playing now: Cities: Skyline / Ori and the Blind Forest / Banished

Launch day will be a huge lagfest, unless they find a way to allow new players in small groups...

i.e.  old time players get pre release. acceesss......

Day 1 people with 5 year and older GW accounts

Day 2 people with 3 year and older GW accounts

Day 3 people with guild wars accounts

Day 4 People with collectors edition

Day 5 The rest of us

You seriously don't want the whole world joining your game on day 1...

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

I personally think they won't do that. It could turn out to be a PR nightmare. I think what they will do, and they've done this atleast once, is to open the game earlier than scheduled, a day or several hours early. It'll be a surprise announcement.

Whichever way they plan to do it the early level events will still end up being scaled by an insane degree. I'm completely certain has already figured all this out but I wonder how.

Oh how quickly you guys forget about instances. Here's how day one will operate: Players login after grand opening. Instances will open up accordingly. Unable to get any experience or events? Click the drop-down menu and switch instances. Simple.

"But sir, you must be mistaken! There will be no instances."

Yes, there certainly will be. You will have to manually switch channels which are "instances" of the game. This will coincide with single player instances to create the entire experience.

Launch day for the orignal was pretty smooth with very minor issues. Why would it be any different  now ?  Launch day is going  be madness but so awesome!

     Source for this?

I am not sure, people will play on servers now (which you easily can change between) so I don't think it will be the same as in GW where there were 1 server for each region or language.

As long as they have enough room for all servers it isn't a problem and closing down a few servers if needed is easy to do since people can move around as they please.

You might call these servers instances but that is just partly correct since they will be competing against eachother in PvP and so on, they are not the same as the instances from GW1 or the instances that open up in AoC when enough people log on.

As for lag I am not that worried, the first day might lag a bit but ANET have good programmers and that is something that keeps lags down.

GW1 day 1 had every player dance the robot (lag) and some do the moonwalk (rubberbanding).

But I am optimistic about GW2 since it's a new game engine, it might even launch really smooth.

    Ready for GW2!!!

Pretty certain they've already said that's not how it'll work. It's all server based. Can't remember the exact interview but I'm sure they explicited stated that's not how it works.

Well there is a human starting area, I'd assume there are starting areas for each raise, 5 total.  Can't wait to get to the moment where I meet a non-Charr race for the first time. I guess I'll be starting in the Black Citadel.

As with every Mmo thats newly released and with some hype  there is allways waves on new players in the firs 3 months after that it gets empty in the low lvl zones cos everyone either wen to cap lvl or stopped , and those whos not been from the beginning will have to go threw  solo :)

    Launch day:

There will be cheers, tears, amazement and whines. Some fans will proclaim the greatest game ever has been born - Others will shout "Fail - WoW/EQ2/Whatever is much better"

This will happen no matter how launch actually is!

Hopefully most of us will just have a great time, enjoying the new world and mechanics. We will (I hope) get some great screenshots of the mayhem with lowlevel groups, in battles of epic proportions.

We dont need casuals in our games!!! Errm... Well we DO need casuals to fund and populate our games - But the games should be all about "hardcore" because: We dont need casuals in our games!!!

Do you predict violence in the middle east too?

The first day is a perfect day to do some of that personal story and other instanced stuff while the start area is filled with more people than a U2 concert.

Argh dont point out how obvious I am.

Point is: I'll be there, hopefully too busy enjoying it to notice any annoyances. If everything messes up I will just resort to whining and/or moaning.

Hoping that lag won't be an issue...

Heck I don't know what I'll be doing. Probably enjoying that same overwhelmed yet awed feeling I got when I first logged into WoW. It was almost magical. Never got that feeling again with any other game, because most of them just seemed like a redo of WoW, its world, and its gameplay mechanics. While I may never get that exact feeling back, I know that I will still feel like such a newbie with all of the new controls, lore, and events going on around me. God I miss the newbie feeling...

I look forward to being a little dazed and confused when I enter this world. Don't want too much guidance, as it could spoil the experience. Let the game teach me how to play. Don't want any of that L2P crap. I wanna be a noob again. Just let me find myself.

As a player with a 5 year old GW account, I endorse this message.  A head start would be a seriously good way to say thanks to the players that have supported Anet throughout the whole of their work.
