Here's a nice link where you can read about pc requirements for this game. I'm afraid you're missing a vital part, the video card seems to be the most important imagehttp://www.linkshells.com/content.php?125-You-don-t-need-a-1-500-PC-to-run-FFXIV

Thanks this is exactly what i've been looking for! I'm still confused as to why my system sucked i think i should have gotten a better score on the benchmark,

Oh indeed. Especially because there is no auto-attack in FFXIV, right?

Indeed... It's one of those catch-22s that are unavoidable on forums like these. Nothing SE does would be "the right thing".

People are whining because they post-poned the start of Open Beta due to catching a critical bug that they wanted to fix first. Sounds reasonable to me! But of course, people are going to complain about it and predict the game's failure.

Guess what would have happened if they didn't catch the bug, or worse, knew about the bug but let it go to Open Beta and let the players experience it? Guaranteed, same people would be whining about how "SE let the game go into Open Beta with such a serious bug", and would predict the game is going to fail.

Personally I think it's a bit stupid to think they'll be able to fix whatever "critical bugs" they found before release which is in less than a month. I don't mean to be a doom and gloomer, and if they do it more power to em but I've been burned enough to know that none of this is a good omen for the game.

I have a preorder already, but I may swap it out for something else for the time being and wait a few months to see how the game fares at launch.

What's this "Reasonable" thing you speak of? I do not think that exists on the internet.

People apparently would prefer to jump into a game and crash every 5 minutes or not be able to play at all than wait a bit for them to fix the problems. Oh well, the less whiners that buy the game, the better. I'd love all these mmorpgs if it weren't for those pesky other players. A mute/ignore feature is always the first thing I look for when playing a game.

I think the worst and best part of the internet is the fact it brings everyone closer. I miss when the internet/computers required competence to operate. It was an awesome filtering system.

    Real Life > video games.

Maybe in your crazy little world, but in mine and many others Video games > Real life.

Going out to partyes and drinking etc is lame, i hate being social. i like being social ingame but not irl :p Im prolly one of the few tough, i dunno. But i like it that way :)

On topic: I wasnt planning on playing this game so not big deal for me, to bed for the ones who were tough =/ It sucks when something you are really eager to play gets delayed.

I might try it out if im not too busy with Mount and Blade, UT3 and LoL. But i doubt ill like it. But if im bored it could be a nice time stealer for a little while :) I do enjoy some good PvE and i hear thats what this game is about, even tough im mostly a pvper so doubt ill stick around.

Because obviously games are all spic and span when they come out. And even big games like Aion or WoW were "perfectly released" games.... If your searching for a game that has all bugs fixed and won't have any issues when its released, pick yourself a console game; your fantasizing in an ideal world if that's your expectation for an mmo~game.

Within one month of gameplay all mmo will be subject to any or all of the following that will require additional updates, patches and fixes to address: players hacking, RMT and everyone uploading and using the client at the same time congesting servers. The perfect, no bug, no problem release for an mmo is an impossibility and anyone who says "all they need to do is enough beta testing" doesn't get it at all...

The high system requirements alone will take FFXIV out of contention of being a WoW killer. Don't get me wrong FFXIV will be a great game but it will likely be for niche players only.

Tryklon you are absolutely pathetic if you think you have the right to criticize people who going out of their way to schedule time playing this game. Quite a few people want to be best at something, and the only way they can be the best at FF XIV is to spend all of the extra time they can grinding through every class and story element before the actual release. Obviously he's not cancelling an appointment that is affecting his ability to run a productive "real life", but I can certainly sympathize if he's making this a big priority in his spare time. FF XIV is a competition, not some ditzy little social MMO for 12 year olds. Just because you're satisfied with mediocrity when it comes to gaming doesn't mean other people can't take it seriously.

I think the cake is a lie on this one... the cake being the system requirements... They didn't ask for system requirements like star wars:TOR beta did. If this was a high end graphics game they would have ask for that kind of info before sending random CBT invites.

Yeah, that 1 day of 'infinate delay' is good news. Unless your a troll that is, then its bad news because you run out of things to troll on the forums.
