Combat Speed?

in Final Fantasy XIV
Is combat really as slow as shown in the CB3 videos on youtube?

Not sure if I should keep downloading the client now that I've seen them. =/

    just like playing a rouge in wow without the auto attack, every action need stamina, and u have a stamina bar, it regen slowly

     so if u have full stamina bar, u could spam attack.

    ps, u have to get out of combat mode to regen health and u auto loot everyhing it seem.

    I'm playing the beta and I can tell you, it's kind of slow, but it's still possible that Square still has a bit of tweaking and polish to gameplay.  Not really sure of the video you watched though, so I can't really comment on that

    It plays more like old school turn based rpg's, but with cooldowns, then what you see these days in most MMO's.  It's still a fun game, but does a bit of a learning curve, it just has a different playing style, so you may or may not like it, you do have a Beta option in your hand to actually play and review it yourself, but that is your choice of course... and if you have played FFXI, you will enjoy this much more.

    Wildstar (2013) & Elder Scroll Online (2013)

    Playing: Diablo 3, WOW, Far Cry 3 & X-Com.

    Enjoyed: WOW 5 1/2 yrs, LOTRO 3yrs, GW 1/2yr, DFO 1yr, EVE Online 3yrs, and Huxley (Beta).

    Failed to impress: GW2 3months, Tera Online 6 months (best combat system in any MMO I've played) STO 1/4yr, Aion 1/2yr, AoC 1yr, CO, Fallen Earth, DDO, EQ2 1/2yr, WAR 1/2yr, Lineage 2 and FF XI 1/2yr, FF XIV.

    I watched this video.



    I'm all set up key-wise.

    Just have the 4.7gb patch left. 40kb/s and I'm at 7.8%. =/

    And hehe, the only P2P MMORPG I've played is Darkfall (which I like). So this is going to be a complete change of scenery.

     If your pulling at 40kb/s you have weeks left to get that file.

    I have Hotfile, downloaded everything in less than 90 minutes from thier mirror.  Too bad I dont have a key, I hear some people grabbed them without even being able to log in and now there are none left. :(

    In my opinion the combat doesn't feel nearly as slow as it looks in those videos. I got in for a couple hours and the speed seemed fine to me.

    but i did have the same concern watching those videos.
