There is something I heard once about some guy named Murphy and his law or something, but anyway.
If you have been playing MMO's for anytime at all and have not run into an emergency server shut down you are lucky, I can remember around 6 or so personally.
Also to the person who said something about a demo disk not working and blaming the game, ummm no I would not blame the game. I purchased Dawn of War and DDO on separate occasions and unfortunately both had a corrupted file that would not allow the game to full execute or play and crash due to the file on DoW's instance, contacted the companies and got replacement disk, cause Shit Happens.

youre making a big deal about a freaking demo. a demo. not thet actual game. a demo. there is nothing "serious" to discuss about a demo.
A demo that was specifically made to show the game in a good light. It's like showing your a prototype of your product in an advert and the product screwing up. It's much worse when you attempt to show the best of the game and it screws up than since it makes you worry about what they're not showing...
I'm not saying it's anything of that sort and it more than likely isn't. I was just asking for some reason for some possible reason why it could of happened.
BTW the demo is what people use to decide whether they're going to buy it or not and is used heavily for marketing, it's still midly important even if Bioware has a large group of fans that will buy the game regardless.
Heh, the evil demon of demos strikes again, same dud who hit Microsoft at the world premiere of Windows 98.
It is the thing that happens with demos, they take out parts of the game for a show so glitches like this happens. Doesn't tell us much about the endproduct but it is still kinda funny.
Their own words were, they had the entire game at PAX. Which could explain the crash, as Elikal said, it's a beta build. I'd go with alpha personally though.
I watched the demo video last night posted by TOROCAST or whatever they were called. I was actually pretty impressed by what I saw, graphically the game looks better and better every time they show it off. Some of the outfits shown were a little over the top, but the smuggler always tended to have that suave look, which is the class I'd be playing, so I'm happy about that.
I'm also glad they'll be incorporating a PVPVE aspect. Up until last night I really haven't been sold on this game, after what I saw, I'm starting to fall in line with those who will be buying, eventually.
