Actually, we know lots about the naming conventions in GW2, lore and mechanics wise.
Charr have first name followed by the warband name with a noun attatched. E.G Growlack Steelsword and Razk Steelheart, both of the Steel Warband. First names tend to be, well, brutish and full of consonants. Also possible Roman infuence in names.
Asura only have a first name, but sometimes use their krewe as a surname when dealing with humans. Males tend to end in consonants, especially doubt consonants, while female names tend to end in a or o. Both also usually have only one or two sylables. Rorschakk and Meema.
Sylvari have no surname as far as we can tell so far, and no true trend to their name.
Norn have a proper first name and their surname is usually taken from their parent. Some may also use some sort of title or nickname. Heavy scandanavian influence in the naming structure. Olaf Olafson, Gyda Glenndottir, Fren the Cleaver.
Humans... eh, doesn't need explanation.
Mechanically, any word or words that uses only english letters with three or more symbols. Less than 19 I believe.
Some of this comes from a lore interview at GW2G, I just don't feel like digging it up atm. The rest comes from GoA and noticed naming conventions in GW.
