Beta Site Account Registration Closed?

I've got my SE account set up. I've got my key. I've set up the FFXIV service set up. But when I got to the beta site, I can't seem to register an account there. It says something about not accepting new registrations at this time. I assume this just means waiting, but I've not seen any other mention of this *EVEN IN THE STICKY* so I decided to make a thread just to check.
Of course, now it's logging my in as random accounts on the beta site, after I log into my SE account, which is a really bad bug for SE to have allowed to pass... But yea. I do need to make ANOTHER account for the beta site, right?
