LF new mmo to settle down with

legshotlegshot Member Posts: 59

ok well i'm looking for a new MMO to settle down to for year or longer i'm tring to find an mmo that has both pve and pvp main focus prefer PVP. decent crafting system were players make most the items ingame is a huge++ but aslong as crafting is there and is decent that's also a nice thing i'm looking for. I'll try list few things and try give you better idea of what i;m looking for...keep in mind though even if i don't mention something or maybe something i'm looking for isn't in a game you can think of but know alot about would be nice to get a description of that game i'm always open to new things.

PVE: can be anything from dungeons/raids normal mob slaying aslong as it's intresting or has some long game content with it.

PVP: can be anything from full loot to zone pvp restrictions, as long as pvp is big part of the game. i'm not to botherd if it has faction pvp or not.

Crafting: crafting system needs to be decent enough to make crafted items worth making and also worth selling for profit. collecting items too such as mining, slaying monsters for items or extracting items from monsters via skinning would be nice.

i'm tring not to make the list to demanding as i'm always open to other games. If they have or don't have something on my list, if you know enough about a game you've played or are playing right now, would be nice to get a description from all sides of the game, basicly a mini review but please include end game content, if the game is sandbox then a list of things to do to keep me tied to the game would be nice.

The games so far i've tried either played long enough and got bored, or, tried but didn't get attached to:

WoW: played for so long i always ask myself why...

runescape: years ago i played this got an insane character then quit due to getting tired of the boring grind

EvE: i only tried the trial but really didn't catch me, was pretty bored of playing it after that but my brother kepted playing and still does, but watching him play, just doesn't intrest me enough.

AION: got attached to this game within 20mins of playing, went striaght to level 50 then found myself doing nothing when i got on, i really couldn't be botherd to grind gear just like in WoW.

everquest 2: i wanted to get attached to it but just couldn't due to another game ringing in my ear calling me to play it (darkfall), main reason i wouldn't play EQ2 is it being out for so long, don't want to enter a world where players have been playing for 100 years find myself getting to max level tring to get into decent guild but unable to. also the fact is i felt pvp wasn;t big enough part of the game and was more pve raids, which i want to stay away from due to WoW being all raids. i could be wrong so...i only tried the trial:P

runes of magic: started to love it during trial but the controls just felt so beta like, i went with archery or whatever it was, had to constantly spam auto shot to get my arrow to fire even when facing an enemy, then went to a city which should of been swarming with players but was completely empty then theres the fact it's basicly 90% WoW with dual class system which, from what i've read, is so unbalanced.

darkfall: currently playing this game now love it just can't get attached to it i don't know why, the game has sooo much potential it's unreal but theres something there that isn't keeping me hooked, i love everything about darkfall besides: rays and rocket jumping, some people like it, i don't but at the same time i agree with it, it shouldn't be abused asmuch as it is now, should be a short burst that's it.

hope you read the whole thing i tried to list comments on games i've played to give you an idea why i no longer play or arn't as intrested, thanks for reading.

I honestly cannot think of any other game ATM that I could play for more than a year besides Darkfall.

I do play many games on the side while harvesting/crafting because the game is so friendly with ALT+TABing out of but cannot find a suitable replacement, however, there are several recommendations I would have as side games.

As you seem mostly interested in PVP , have you tried the Warhammer online endless free trial?

T1 action ORVR as well as Scenario( battlegrounds) . it has easy crafting but the things you can make (talismans and Potions) are needed and you can make money off them.

Please note it does matter the server you roll on as the population on some are better than others. (Try badlands)

I will be the first to say the game still has some problems, but several have ben fixed since launch, if you want fun and easy to get into PVP then this game is still worth a look IMO..............

yea that's the problem sid soo many mmos but barly any are decent or they focus to much on one thing and everything else fails.

never thought about warhammer as i have read alot of bad comments about it, but nothing hurts in giving it a try right, only thing though is i am looking for more pvp content within agame but, after slaughtering/being slaughterd for a day in pvp would like to do other things in the game.

LOTRO goes free to play in a few days.  Might give that a try.

Perfect World is a grinder but has very good graphics and has free for all pvp in territory wars as well as karma pvp in the regular world.

With the sheer variety of classes in WAR, you may actually enjoy it. And with the endless trial, Tier 1 is always populated. Can't hurt - it's free (Tier 1).

I think most will agree with me when I say Vindictus is one game to wait for. If you have seen some of its trailers you will know what I mea. Personally, I'm very excited for Vindictus.

    Fallen Earth

  • legshotlegshot Member Posts: 59

already played aion got bored once i hit 50, i know the new exspansion came out but still no idea why i wouldn't go back to it.

fallen earth i had alook at the combat system is what puts me off the most and the fact it has no real content, cb system seemed pretty boring and being sandbox (i love sandbox games don't get me wrong) but there doesn't seem to be anything exciting about fallen earth, yea ok the blood sports seems pretty fun but then it just becomes an FPS :(

i just tried ryzom few days ago loved it but just felt like how i feel about any sandbox game, no end content, i hate it myself when i need a reason to play agame as most sandbox games i've tried are all awesome but then find myself bored with nothing to do but grind skills.

currently tring age of conan as we speak, cb system seems nice, massive "talent" system only just started but i'm on a pvp server and it's mind blowing, tons and tons of people slaughtering each other, i've seen more pvp action in age of conan than i have my 2 years of playing WoW....
