Is it worth starting now

As the title says i just want to know if UO is worth starting now after it being around so long, iv played so many mmorpgs and now im left with none i really enjoy anymore and im trying to decide weather to get WoW (totally new to me never played it), renew my lineage 2 acc or start UO (which i have never played before).

I would just like some feedback on what this game is like and if its newbie friendly etc. Thanks in advance . Paah ill throw in a poll just because iv never done it before .

I recommend Either WoW or UO since you said you wanted something different, either of these games will provide that because you haven't played them. As for UO's age..well most players who have problems with that game are the veterans who have been there from its earlier years and haven't seen major changes just a few expansions. I think starting it up now is still a good decision as its rare to be bored with Ultima online in a short period of time unless you really favour another game.

Having played many MMORPGs (having started long ago with UO), I would say that you will likely find UO to be a refreshingly new experience (when compared to EQ and the like that you most probably have played).  WOW (from my limited experience so far with it) while it is pretty and has some nice features still plays very much like other mainstream MMORPGs.  UO stands out from all the rest (even considering it's dated graphics) in that it is the ONLY true skill based game to date.  It is the only MMORPG I have ever played in which I never felt like I was grinding to make a level at all - it simply never felt like a grind.  Give UO a shot, you will likely find it a pleasure.
