Game download freezing at 94%

MisterSrMisterSr Member UncommonPosts: 928

My download is freezing at 94%, I have no clue what is going on but here is what it looks like.

What in the world is going on? This is extremely frustrating, I just fixed my internet and now FFXIV is doing this. This is just the worst.

  • I'm freezing at the same exact spot. 94.6% 39 remote and 8 local. 0.0bps for upload and download

    mine did the same but after 20 mins it finished - but there is another download and that one keeps timing out - no idea what is going on.

    Kay I thought it was my internet, good to know I am not the only one.

    Stuck on exactly the same place after 3 days of downloading. exactly at 94.6, just like you. So its not only you.

    But right now, this minute... even though it said 94.6. It was completed. So it is continuing in the background

    The current work around is to go into:

    My GamesFINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Versiondownloadsffxiv-beta

    You will see a couple folders with odd names.  Open either of them and go into metainfo.  Look for the most recently edited file.  You may have to look in both sets of folders to find it.  Open the most recently edited file in utorrent.  Once its downloaded, make sure the downloaded file is put into the patch folder (this sits next to the metainfo folder of the file you opened in utorrent).

    Here are some instructions on how to get past the patcher getting stuck.   The specific files have yet to be updated but it should be enough to get you past that for any future patches.   Hope this helps.

    I had that too. Go here:

    http://www.ffxivcore.com/topic/12719-open-beta-download-links-install-instructions/

    Follow the instructions and grab the patch from mega downloads, install it in the correct patch file as noted and you will be fine.

  • They don't have the patch we're trying to download available

    FYI red patcher window is for updating patcher, blue patcher window is for updating game.

    You can also find the torrent files themselves on your system and download the files:

    C:UsersYOURNAMEDocumentsMy GamesFINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Versiondownloadsffxiv-betaca2a8aemetainfo

    That is the directory for the red window patcher (patcher/installer patcher) patch.

    :::::::::::

    Files for the blue window patcher (game clinet patcher) are almost the same path:

    C:UsersYOURNAMEDocumentsMy GamesFINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Versiondownloadsffxiv-betad96437e6metainfo

    Find the torrent files with todays date and download.  Then place the .patch files that you just downloaded into the same file path except instead of going into metainfo drop them into the patch folder.

    (ie.  C:UsersYOURNAMEDocumentsMy GamesFINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Versiondownloadsffxiv-betaca2a8aepatch)

     ::::::::::::

    Then run the patcher and it will find the files and you'll be all set!

    ::::::::::::

    This patch will hopefully fix the patcher issues, but yes, utorrent method works perfectly.  I've used this method for the past three patches and it's foolproof.

    There have been numerous threads about this in the last few days and this method has been brought up as the solution every time.

    Good luck!!

    Note: after utorrent patching, the following patch for the game itself downloaded and installed perfectly without the torrent method!  Hope they finally fixed the patcher issue. :)

    Go to "my games" then FF14 beta version then "downloads" then "FF14-beta" then "d96437e6" then "metainfo" and then download the torrent version of the updates and it will download super fast. Then just put the file you downloaded into the patch folder, in the "d96437e6". And your good to go. Good luck

  • where can i get the torrent version for D2010.09.05.2000

    that is the file the patcher is stuck on

    I did this...or I think I did this right...it doesn't seem that hard. I still launch the same way and it launches to 94% and stops.

    It comes down to a bandwidth issue and their patcher.  Torrent technology itself is exactly what you use in a situation where tons of people are trying to download at the same time because it works better in situations like that because of the amount of people downloading and sharing parts of the file that they have already downloaded.  It is better than their stalled servers.
