Rather than review the game...

I played for an hour and was ready to throw my computer out the window. Now, rather than come here and complain - or give the game a "Review" I am still willing this give this god forsaken relic a chance.

 

I know it doesn't sound like it, but I am.

 

My question is... as a past XI player who reached 75DRK/37SAM in 3 months (A lot of play time in laymens terms) and a 10 year MMORPG veteran that is also a FF fanatic, what are in your opinions (Those that are having a great time) on the positive aspects of the game.

 

Things I have written off:

 

Storyline, Fan Fiction Equivalent - for some people, definitely not for me.

Interface, I'll get over it if I find a nother redeeming aspect.

Slow Overall Game Pacing - Again, need to find a redeeming element to get over it.

Confusing Menu System - Not as confusing as EVE was, but with less of a tutorial and no noob help channel that I am aware of. I figured it out in an hour and a half... but god did it test my patience.

 

 

So yeah, what I am essentially asking are the things people find redeeming about the game - or better yet, people that LOVE the game and think it is the best one to come out in years. I really want to hear from those people. My frusteration at the moment can't handle people coming in here and calling the game bad - I just don't want to.

The cutscenes and graphics are fairly well done but again even those have thier problems such as no voice acting and bad optimization. I've tried to love this game on many different occassions but the gameplay just isn't doing it for me So i'll wait a few months until they have a trial of some sort and I suggest you do the same. Also, many people actually liked the game after hating it a lot after the first hour so try playing say 5 hours and if your experience changes then well stick to it.

Good advice, I took a break and got back on and found it less repulsive - but still not my cup of tea. I'll give it a lengthy demo later on tonight as I am a huge FF fan in general... so badly want to love this game I just can't do it.

It's mildly entertaining seeing all these open beta testers rushing here to be the first to give the game a review.

try not to use the mouse as much as possible and make sure you do some crafting.  It has me loving  the game...

What's hilarious is, if you are suggesting I gave the game a review - I explictly said I wasn't reviewing the game, I said help me find some fun in this game.
